Book Description

May 1 2001
Working two jobs, going to graduate school . . . Karen Drew knew it wasn't the best time to visit her elderly friend. And she shruddered to think what could have happened if Brice Carlin hadn't pulled her from the drifts and taken her to his home. As a doctor, his healing instincts took over. But being snowbound with the man who once tried to have her put in jail was dangerous territory.

Sometimes fate decides to offer the chance to heal, to forgive and to understand that things happen for a reason -- and love is the best one of all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simply enjoyable Jan. 20 2005
By Donna K. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
A well-written, realistic story illustrating the growth of a deep and abiding love between two very complex and compassionate people. The wintery upstate New York setting is described in such vivid detail. A quick, easy 'feel-good' read, which reminds us all the importance of taking good care of ourselves, especially when in the form of TLC provided by a loving partner. Very romantic, and although it did contain some very steamy sensual scenes, the focus was on the love rather than the sex.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! Sept. 1 2012

I read this book over 10 years ago, yet I still remember it clearly. It's one of those I feel like I could read again and again and love every time. A classic "snowbound during a blackout" romance tropes, but with some great twists and turns. Love the vulnerability on both of their parts, but there's a lot of humor there too. A great, quick read. Loved it.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book Feb. 15 2009

I first read TLC when I was about 16yrs old, I stupidly allowed someone to borrow it, and never saw it again. For years I always thought about it, then along came search engines and computers and voila I have another copy. I find this book lovely, it is light and easy to read with humour and some parts that curl your toes. I can read it over and over and have. Thank you Barbara for a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best I've ever read (and re-read!) June 1 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This is one of my favorite Delinsky books (second only to Commitments). It is a completely satisfying read - well-drawn characters (sympathetic and complex) that evolve throughout the book, and a setting that is described in perfect detail. A real joy.
