There are lots of books retelling the Christmas Story out there but somehow this book found it's way into our home and I am pleased by the beautiful illustrations. It's hard to explain... you know how sometimes you look at a book and your either strongly pulled towards it and really like it and want to own it or the book does nothing for you. For me, this book drew me in and made me want to have this book for our Christmas reading collection. If you do choose to purchase this book I hope that you do like it as much as our family does.The book is based on the gospels according to St. Matthew & St. Luke. I also like very much that the book does not say that little lord Jesus is saving us from our sins, but does say he will be born a kind and his kingdom will never end. For our family this works well and is easier for my daughter to understand.
