4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars - the true version of the album April 14 2004
By Rocker_Man TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
T.N.T. (1974.) ACDC's first album in their native Australia.

Back when they had Bon Scott at the helm, ACDC was one of the finest classic hard rock acts in the world. It's just a shame that on February 19, 1980, his life was cut tragically short. But, the music that he made with the band back in the old days more than lives on. What many fans don't know is that the band's first two albums released in Australia are actually a little different than the versions that got released in America. In Australia, there were two different albums - T.N.T. and High Voltage. In America, only High Voltage was released, though it actually ended up being quite different from its Aussie counterpart - The Australian T.N.T. album is actually more like the American High Voltage album than the album called High Voltage that got an American release. Hope I cleared that up. However, in recent years, some of this material that never made it to America before got an American release in the form of the '74 Jailbreak EP and the Bonfire box set. Well, sorry about that long intro. Read on for my review of the album.

The first thing you'll notice about this album is that, for the most part, the tracklist is similar to that of the American album High Voltage. It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll), Rock And Roll Singer, The Jack, T.N.T, Can I Set Next To You Girl, and High Voltage all appeared on the American High Voltage album. These are excellent classic hard rock tunes, and there's no denying that. And, of course, there are a few tunes that didn't make it onto the American release - instead, the American version of the album "filled in the cracks" with tracks from the Australian High Voltage album. Tracks that weren't on the American version of the album include Rocker, which was actually on the American version of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, oddly enough, as well as the biggest rarity of all - the cover of the Chuck Berry classic School Days. This is a good cover song, although it is drastically different from Berry's original version of the song. All in all, this is an excellent album, and in my opinion it is superior to its American counterpart.

Rather than buying the American version of High Voltage, the American '74 Jailbreak EP, and the Bonfire box set, I suggest getting the imported versions of T.N.T. and High Voltage, so that you can see how the band really wanted you to enjoy this music - the American releases are incomplete and can't do the band justice.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Mar 17 2004
Format:Audio CD
Dont be fooled and think this is the same tracks as the world wide HIGHVOLTAGE because its quite the opisote!

This is AC/DC's second album which is only released in Australia!, and the one that shot them to stardom in Australia!

This album almost seems like a greatest hits, but its just a great album with some of the best AC/DC songs ever written all just by coinedence where put onto this terrific album!

If you have the world release of HighVoltage - you will notice that there is 2 tracks of diffrence with this album! "School Days" and "Rocker" where replaced on the other album with "Shes Got Balls" and "Little Lover" which were two songs from there first Australian album ,also titled "HighVoltage"

"School Days" is a cover version of "Chuck Berry"
Up untill the release of BonFire on the "Volts" Cd it was previosly only available on this album!

"Rocker" has surfaced on two world albums, why it was cut in the first place on the world HV i dont know? But this album is the bomb for AC/DC fans! And even the non AC/DC fans who like to rock will enjoy this album....i think? This is one of AC/DC's best of the best from the best of the best!
