Product Description

Product Description

Before God touched his heart and transformed his life, Rudy Rasmus was a businessman running a borderline bordello in Houston. But thousands now know him simply as Pastor Rudy-with a downtown ministry at St. Johns Church that he and his wife Juanita started to reach out to those who Jesus called the least of these. TOUCH is the amazing story of Rudys life and ministry of grace that is changing lives daily. The church has become one of the most culturally diverse congregations in the country with people from every social and economic background, including the homeless, sharing the same pew. Pastor Rudys message to touch the lives of those in our own communities has a lesson for us all. Pastor Rudy is also a featured contributor to O, The Oprah Magazine-answering questions on ethics and marking one of the few times O has asked a Pastor to serve in this manner.

5.0 out of 5 stars DEEP, REAL, SIMPLE FAITH, Jan 7 2008
By Dottie Escobedo-Frank - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: TOUCH: Pressing Against the Wounds of a Broken World (Paperback)
Pastor Rudy speaks straight from the heart out of his real life... He takes us to a deep place where God can reach into the recesses of our daily living and provide us with a way of hope and transformation. His simple faith gives courage to all who wonder how God could help in our particular circumstances! A great book to give to people who did not grow up around religion!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiration for the masses ...., Jan 7 2008
By Dawn Sloan "Philanthropist" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: TOUCH: Pressing Against the Wounds of a Broken World (Paperback)
Not the typical book is an understatement - this book compels you to take action anywhere you see the undeserved - so in any community in the United States! This book also explains what it means to touch a life and how to keep that process moving forward. It encourages you to take a chance and live life a little more, reach out and touch those who need a friend and touch those who don't appear to be touchable. This book teaches the meaning of compassionate service. Compassionate service can mean making a phone call to someone you have been upset with for years and forgiving them or walking around the corner and buying a homeless person a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. As this book proves, it only takes one person to make a change.

Pastor Rudy's transparency is so refreshing! What an amazing story of transformation. How inspiring to see a ministry devoted to `the least of those' among us. This book will prick your heart and compel you to want to TOUCH those around you!
