5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book for young children April 11 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
My granddaughter, who is 2.5 and my niece, who is 3 both really enjoy this book. It is the story, told in rhyme, of a busker and his cat who get separated and eventually reunited. I find it is one that I can read over and over again (as young children request) without getting tired of it. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars My new favorite May 1 2013
By Liberrygirl - Published on Amazon.com
I'm a school librarian, and I read many books aloud each week. This one is great! Not only is the story absolutely engaging, the rhyme and scan are impeccable (which cannot be said for all stories in rhyme.) My first graders loved it. The illustrations capture the happy cats, busy city, and the life of a busker. I love Julia Donaldson's work, and this is one of her best.

My kids (4 and 2) love this story! This has become one of our top 5 requested stories and both kids have memorized the whole story. Very detailed illustrations and plenty of intriguing subject matter lead to some fun and funny conversations. We discovered this book at our local library and after it was due back, my kids kept asking for it, so we bought s copy to keep.

We read Tabby McTat every night over and over again before bed time! My son loves the illustrations. He is a little too young to get the story, but he definitely enjoys all the details in the pictures.

I love this book! my boyfriend has spent time being a busker and he stills wears his bandana around his neck. His son coincidentally loves cats and books about cats! So this story really brought together elements that interested them!
