5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Action-Packed Blaze!, July 1 2007
By Misuzmama - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Taken (Mass Market Paperback)
Only a few hours left and Selina Sanborn will be hundred of thousands of dollars richer courtesy of Blackwell & Blackwell Inc. The con-artist is about to pull off one of her biggest jobs. A job that in no way involves having mind-blowing sex with her boss. But a little one night stand couldn't compromise the rest of mission, could it?

Ryder Blackwell is a drop dead gorgeous CEO known for his love of dangerous sports, fast cars and women. And after he realizes that the hot babe he drag raced down Manhattan streets with is none other than the quite new employee "Carol Lambert", he's interested in getting to know her wild side better.

But who would have thought what one explosive night might lead to? What happens when Ryder finds out that Carol really isn't Carol and that she stole a lot of money from his company? Will he ever be able to find the untraceable Selina? What exactly is she hiding here? And when he finds out will he want to stay? And/or will she let him?

Absolutely fantastic story. Its a Blaze so naturally the love scene's are scorching. The Carrington author duo didn't waste any time introducing them. Though normally I would be slightly hesitant to accept something like that as believable, it wasn't here. The sparks between the H/H literally flew off the page. It was clearly what I would define as animal magnetism. Ryder's and Selina's chemistry is perfect, both strong type-A personalities that capture the reader right off the bat.

And if the sexual tension wasn't enough, there is plenty of action and tons of surprises. This is not a typical woman-cons-man-out-of-money story. Oh No! There is another totally different story line. I simply cannot tell you without ruining it, but suffice to say that it will keep you glued to the book.

A great one sitting read. You'll be 'Taken' in by the fast action, sexual chemistry and emotional undertones of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars exhilarating romantic suspense thriller, July 5 2007
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Taken (Mass Market Paperback)
Two months ago Seline Sanborn steals the identity of a Seattle senior accountant executive Carol Lambert. She quickly obtains work in New York City eventually obtaining the respect of the confidence of Blackwell & Blackwell Industries top management. CEO Ryder Blackwell is stunned when he sees a beautiful Carol in a convertible because over the two months he has known her she has been the poster child of a conservative financier. They have quite a night together.

The next day Carol is gone from the Big Apple along with just under a million dollars. Stunned, Ryder taking it personally and begins a quest to find her. When he succeeds he has no time to boast because someone from her past wants her dead and collateral damage especially to witnesses is acceptable.

Readers will be TAKEN by this exhilarating romantic suspense thriller starring a unique female protagonist. Seline is a wonderful character as she methodically pulls off the con perfectly until she lets her hair down and is seen by Ryder. The fast-paced story line never slows down from the moment the audience realizes this is no normal lead female in a contemporary romance as the antics of Seline and ultimately Ryder provide fans with a fresh Carrington caper.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of twists and turns, Jan 16 2008
By Tracy Vest - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Taken (Mass Market Paperback)
On the evening before her biggest con will take her out of the Big Apple, Selina Sanborn (disguised as Carol Lambert) takes her boss to bed and they have the time of their lives. The next morning, he is back at the office wanting another taste; she is long gone with nearly a million of his hard-earned bucks. CEO Ryder Blackwell won't let her get the best of him and soon puts the best detectives on the payroll to find her. When he finally catches up to her and discovers she is more complicated than he could ever have imagined, he brings danger to her door, as she has a bounty on her head and has been hiding from some pretty nasty bad guys and the only way to get rid of them is to out maneuver them and getting rid of Ryder, who is complicating her life is her first order of business.

Just when you think you know where the story is going, Carrington veers off into a new direction, bringing the reader along for the ride. The plotting and pacing are tight; the chemistry drips off the pages, and the action is non-stop.
