Book Description

March 28 2002 Potter
"The Tale of the Pie and the Patty Pan" features the houses, gardens and streets of the village of Sawrey, where Beatrix Potter lived, at Hill Top, her first farm. The inhabitants, however, are animals rather than people, and problems arise when Ribby the cat invites Duchess the dog to tea. "The Tale of the Pie and the Patty-Pan" is number 17 in "Beatrix Potter's" series of 23 little books, the titles of which are as follows: "The Tale of Peter Rabbit"; "The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin"; "The Tailor of Gloucester"; "The Tale of Benjamin Bunny"; "The Tale of Two Bad Mice"; "The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle"; "The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher"; "The Tale of Tom Kitten"; "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck"; "The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies"; "The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse"; "The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes"; "The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse"; "The Tale of Mr. Tod"; "The Tale of Pigling Bland"; "The Tale of Samuel Whiskers"; "The Tale of The Pie and the Patty-Pan"; "The Tale of Ginger and Pickles"; "The Tale of Little Pig Robinson"; "The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit"; "The Story of Miss Moppet"; "Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes"; and, "Cecily Parsley's Nursery Rhymes".

5.0 out of 5 stars The Pie and the Patty Pan March 11 2003

I absoulutly love this story! When I was really little, Beatrix Potter was one of my favorite authors, and still is. Her stories are so sweet fo little children, especially this one. This is one of my personal favorites, and I believe that you will agree when you're done with this childhood classic. Her illustrations are so cute and well done and colorful! Her whole series of books about animals are all tied together. They all know each other and are all friends. This is a great story for children, especially ones with appreciation of animals.

Great little story. The pictures in this book are fantastic for any Schipperke owner. The artist depicted these dogs wonderfully.

Of course I love the stories but its all about the illustrations and there are none. A huge disappointment. Got a sample of the Beatrix Potter Tales, Illustrated collection by MobileReference and it had them and they come out pretty well on the Kindle.

Also, what is with the way the author name shows up as Beatrix, 1866-1932 Potter rather than Potter, Beatrix or simply Beatrix Potter.

if you ever want to hear your 3yo walking around dramatically saying 'a little dog indeed, as if there were no cats in Sawry! And pie for afternoon tea - the very idea!' then this book is for you. I don't think she understands what's REALLY happening in this book, but she clearly loves it as both of us can pretty much quote the entire thing based on the sheer number of times I've been requested to read it!

The book arrived with plain text that looked like it was printed on an ink jet printer, but faint There were no illustrations and many blank pages. Buyers Beware!
