These tales were tested over a fifty-year period by librarian Augusta Baker for storyhours at The New York Public Library. The collection contains many well-known tales including "Cinderella", "The Princess and the Glass Mountain", and "East of the Sun and West of the Moon". Most readers will be less familiar with the other tales from fifteen countries. These include "How Molo Stole the Lovely Rose Red" from China and "The Horned Woman" from Ireland. These are great for introducing children to a variety of cultures.
