HASH(0x99db0864) out of 5 stars Fun thriller March 15 2011

A satisfying light read with a few minor quibbles. The story is constructed over a period of days and the author mixes three points of view, which, one would think would provide a collision of spoilers, but he rather skillfully separates each and provides an ending resolving each in a rather startling manner.

My quibble was the abrupt way he ended the story. First we see the events morning-by-morning, afternoon-by-afternoon, and day-by-day. At the denouement, however, he jumps a week and lets the characters explain the resolution.

I was puzzled by the publisher's blurb because Raven, the attorney, is hardly the major character. That honor is shared with Nick Teffinger, a Denver detective, and Dalton, a really creepy impresario, and finally, the "pirate." The motives of the black stalker are never satisfactorily explained. Can't say more without spoiling everything.

A fun read that left me scratching my head at the end (which was OK because it was itching, anyway.) I'll definitely read more Jagger.

HASH(0x99db0c90) out of 5 stars An absolute page turner! Jan. 7 2010

This is the first book I have read from R. J. Jagger. Since I was unfamiliar with this author, I started with the Kindle "sample" of Jaggerworks 1, which included Witness Chase as the first selection. By the time I was done reading the sample, I couldn't click on "Buy" fast enough. I had to see what would happened next. This book won't let you down. I'm so glad I started off with Jaggerworks 1 because now I have two more of R. J. Jagger's works on deck. I'm already 3/4 way through "Bad Client", the second book included in Jaggerworks 1, and it is just as captivating.

A really good story-line. I got hooked from the start and found it difficult to put down. Some of the crimes were a bit unbelievable but it still kept me captivated.Witness Chase (Nick Teffinger Thriller)

HASH(0x99db0db0) out of 5 stars Would I Recommend? - YES Sept. 28 2013

I really enjoyed this suspense thriller from R. J. Jagger, and I expect I will be getting more of his books. Well written, and it kept me on edge, and bewildered. Things were starting to fall into place for me about the time the author let us know that final bit of the story that tied everything together. Several things about this book make it a standout effort. Even though the crimes were horrific, the details and descriptions were just enough to let the reader know the extreme and cruel lengths the tormenter went to, yet not overly graphic and detailed to a turn-your-stomach point of no return. There was enough personality to make the characters familiar, and as if they are someone you know. You want them to be safe and victorious. And the villains are decidedly evil, and if they get their proper justice, or maybe a little more, you will be cheering. And I'm especially glad to see that the books can be read in any order, and are not dependent or previous books, and do not leave you hanging, forcing you to buy the next in a series.

Looking forward to more from Jagger!

Although a little stereo-typical, I found it to be fun to read and entertaining. I will read more by this author.
