5.0 out of 5 stars Tarzan Rocks! July 17 2006
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Honestly, I don't know why so many people hate this show! I think the music is fantastic! I have not yet seen it, but I'm hoping soon I'll go to NYC or hopefully there will be a tour production. The music is just so addicting. Every song is great and full with energy and emotion and passion. Josh Strickland is by far the best MALE singer I have ever heard in a Broadway show. Jenn Gambatese is EXCELLENT! She is such a beautiful singer and she has her many higlights in her high notes ("Strangers Like Me"). Merle Dandrige is a WONDERFUL Kala. She has such a beautiful voice. I can totally tell why she was "Joanne" in RENT for a long period. Chestor Gregory III is a WONDERFUL Terk, also. And the man that plays Kerchak is fantastic, along with Porter. Clayton, even though he is a main character, does not have any songs.

Highlight songs:

"Two Worlds"

"You'll Be In My Heart"

"Son Of Man"

"Sure As Sun Turns To Moon"

"Waiting For This Moment"

"Different"

"Trashin' The Camp"

"Like No Man I've Ever Seen"

"Strangers Like Me"

"For The First Time"

"Sure As Sun Turns To Moon (Reprise)"

All in all, this is a wonderful show. And I bet the show is just as fantastic!

TARZAN ROCKS!

3.0 out of 5 stars Some high points, many low ones... Jun 27 2006

First of all, I have to say that I love the movie soundtrack. Ironically, the movie songs here are by far the best ones. And, surprisingly enough, Tarzan's singing (Josh Strickland) is the strongest. Kerchak's (sp?) voice is plain annoying and Jane sounds like a past-her-prime Julie Andrews. Frankly, I'm disappointed with the voices of the cast.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tarzan - The Broadway Musical July 9 2006

I went to go see the show in NYC and i thought it was amazing however i thought that after the first couple of scenes that were a bit slow i thought that the remainer of the show was wonderful. Josh Strickland has a great as Tarzan and other supporting characters had pretty good voices as well. Overall, after listening to the soundtrack i feel that i would enjoy the show so much more because the show is very fun and entertaining and although some people feel that the singing is bad or weak i thought that musically the show was awesome. Chester Gregory II stole the show with his songs and was also very entertaining. Don't let anyone tell you that this show isn't worth seeing because it is very good and is a great show for the whole. I want to see the show again. It is worth the support of viewer. Go see it and make a choice for yourself. As an actor i can enjoy it, others should be able to as well.
