2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed w/this book May 6 2011

If you are seeking COLORED examples of Marbling paper techniques there are only two colored pixs included at the end of in this book(let). As a visual artist I like "seeing" the details in each of the marbling designs including seeing the color combinations used in creating the marbling papers. This book did not have what I was looking for, but if you don't mind the marbling designs being in black & white...this might work for you. It didn't for me.

Also, IMO this is more of a booklet rather than a book b/c it is only 32 pages---am disappointed w/this book & am going to return it ASAP.

Though I am learning to marble on fabric, this book provided simple and easy-to-follow instructions on a number of classic marbling patterns that I haven't been able to find elsewhere, as well as a great introduction to the art of marbling itself. I have used it as a reference several times now.

5.0 out of 5 stars New, old project April 14 2012

Many years ago, I did some marbleing on paper and enjoyed doing it. A woman demonstrated marbleing at an art organization's monthly meeting and it looked like something I could use in my area of Experimental Mixed Media so I looked up some of the books she had and bought them. I have not had time to use them and I know I will in the near future.
