Product Description

From the Publisher

Easygoing, thoughtless, and direct, Tex at fifteen likes everyone and everything, especially his horse, Negrito, and Johnny Collins's blue-eyed sister, Jamie. He thinks life with his seventeen-year-old brother, Mason, in their ramshackle house would be just about perfect if only Mace would stop complaining about Pop. Pop hasn't been home in five months. Mace wants to get out of Oklahoma. Tex just seems to attract trouble and daneger . . . Suddenly everything's falling apart. Can Tex keep it all together?

4.0 out of 5 stars Jared at Richview Middle School Mar 10 2004
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Tex was the boy who the story was about. Mason was his older brother. Tex's friends are Johnny and Jamie. Jamie's older brother, Bob, is also friends with Tex and Mason. The book begins with Tex telling how his life has been. The problem is that their dad is in the rodeo so he travels to the rodeo and he hasn't been sending them money. I think the most exciting part is when there was a carnival in the city and they tried to sneak in without getting caught. The story ended with the two brothers happy and Mason was excepted into college to play basketball. Iliked the book because it was about two brothers that learned to live without their parents. Ithink the story was really interesting. The book was really good. If I was going to try to convince a friend to read this book I would tell him that it is a real good book about two brothers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tex Feb 13 2004
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Tex was a great book. It was a book about a young boy named Tex. He lived a hard life. As he got older he started making wrong choices, and getting into trouble. I would strongly recomend this book to other students. I think they would find it an interesting and touching story.
