Texas April 2 2012
By graduate student - Published on
Format: Paperback
Perry's conversational style keeps the reader highly entertained as he delves over tons of little-known facts surrounding Texas history in the course of 200 pages. The trivia included sheds light on both Mexican and Tejano perspectives going back hundreds of years.
A perfect read for those of us often intimidated and/or bored by run-of-the-mill history books.

Format: Paperback
Being a 10th-generation Texan and history buff, I picked this book up with interest. I was not disappointed! I learned things I didn't know and read things I did know from a new perspective. Perry's style is witty and much so, it even kept my husband entertained! Highly recommended....
The Eyes of Texas Dec 27 2011

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is a fun short read on Texas. There are some interesting notes and facts you usually don't get in "history" books. The book covers everything from outlaws, unique landmarks to some of the bizarre political drama in the formation of the state. Good book with many illustrations and photos.
Short and Sweet! Jan. 21 2012

Format: Paperback
The book will help you navigate through the complex and sometimes mytical development of the Lone Star State history. If you are looking for a condensed but comprehensive account of Texas history that will keep you interested throughout, this is the book. Short and sweet!
