Nothing revealing or earth shattering regarding 'W.E.' here. Excerpts from the many letters written by Edward (David) added a personal touch but are already well known to anyone who has done any sort of research on the Duke and Duchess. The writing is sporadic mixed with very bland interviews and 3rd party references.
Not worth the read.

The author is trying to convince you that Wallis Simpson was a good person and the Queen Mother was cruel to her. She painted Wallis as an innocent caught up in Edward VIII's life and unable to leave. I'm not convinced!

This book was very well written. It took an old and well reported subject and breathed new life into it. The book gives you everything from Mrs. Simpson's perspective, which will leave you shocked at times (she wasn't as conniving as I thought she was!) . I would honestly recommend this took to anyone who is a fan of either royalty, history, or just the human heart/condition.

A very negative view of the Duchess and her husband. Very interesting, especially after reading Michael Bloch's Secret Files of the Duke of Windsor, which presents a sympathetic view of both Wallis and Edward. Presumably the truth lies somewhere between the two extremes...
