About the Author

Tommy Europe is one of North America’s most sought-after personal trainers. His shows, The Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp and Bulging Brides, reach a million Canadians each week. Before becoming a personal trainer, Tommy was a two-time all-star in the CFL. He had an eleven-year football career, which also included winning a Grey Cup and a stint with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints. Tommy also has an active acting career, with both acting and stunt roles in numerous television shows and feature films such as Supernatural, V, Stargate and Scary Movie 4. Tommy lives in Vancouver. Having followed the "last 10 pound" series. Desperately wanted someone to devise a nutritious and balanced meal plan, which was calorie counted etc. this book does just that, and more. Each day Tommy gives you a set of, uncomplicated exercises, followed by a daily ( again, uncomplicated) food list.
A fantastic book, it's just like having Tommy as your personal trainer, (minus the expense).
The results speak for themselves. Highly recommend this book.
Had to order book from Canada, as it was unavailable in the UK. Arrived within 10 days, quicker than most of the items I order from Amazon UK, and taking account of postage and exchange rate, it worked out relatively cheap.

took this book out of the library repeatedly and finally gave up and bought it. I took a 1 day fitness class with Tommy Europe when he came to Vancouver Island several years ago and holy moly, fun but HARD. These work outs are great and easy to do in a small space which is exactly what I needed

I borrowed this book from the library twice before I finally bought it. It think it's well written, motivational, and easy to understand. Tommy Europe promotes interval training with minimal equipment. All you need are the basics: swissball, weights, and resistant bands. A timer is also helpful to have. The book is organized into a daily schedule and suggested food plan (which is one of my favourite parts of the book - super realistic and offering good variety). The book is great for the beginner or intermediate person and promotes healthy weight loss (or increased athletic ability for intermediates). This is not a fad-diet, fad-training program, its a great way to get your but moving by establishing realistic goals. If you've seen the "Last 10 Pounds" TV show, you get the sense of pace and activity that is encouraged in the book. Tommy's voice really comes through the pages. Highly recommended. I do wish the book would stay open when laid flat though, would be easier to keep track of what exercise you need to do next.

This book is great for anyone looking for some personal training type excersises without the personal training prices!

Tommy has provided very detailed descriptions and photos for each excersise. It's very easy to follow. He includes day by day plans for workouts and meals for 30 days. Everyday is different so it keeps you interested.

Tommy Europe's tv shows only really started recently on UK TV and I initially skipped them - thinking it was going to be another crackpot diet with badly thought out exercises. As a personal trainer I tend to shake my head when watching these types of shows. I actually sat down through one episode of 10lb Bootcamp intending to laugh at it - but I was actually really impressed that the diet and exercise regimes were sensible and tough. Though the format was occasionally a bit too daytime TV - the actual transformations and advice given was top notch.

I also realised that I had let myself go to an extent, despite all my knowledge and years of advising others, I'd let injuries and the stress of life avoid practicing what I preached every day. I was not obese and still in good shape compared to most people - but I knew I needed my butt-kicking to get back to my peak and re-find that love for training and eating good, healthy food. I decided to buy this book from the UK and had it shipped over here.

The book is far superior to the TV shows (although it helps to have Tommy's drill sergeant voice in your head!) The book works like having a very good personal trainer on a budget. The programme is worked out for you, from the pre-start weigh-ins and measurements, right through each days food intake, meal timings, each exercise and activity level. The diet is pitched just right - it's not so extreme that only a pro-bodybuilder could follow it, but it's not avoiding the science behind macronutrient and micronutrient requirements and individual hunger/metabolism. The exercises are advanced enough to work but the explanations are simple enough for someone who's never exercised in their life.

I absolutely LOVE the simplicity of this book. You can do the exercises at home, the recipes are easy to make and don't include bizarre/rare ingredients, and everything is laid out for you each day. Tommy is very motivating and flexible. If you want to swap a meal, it's ok. If you want to swap an exercise, it's ok. You'll need a great deal of commitment and positive attitude to succeed, and this book is the perfect tool to help you in your journey.
