This book gives all of the information needed to follow this plan. You can read why it works, how it works, what you need to buy (portion sizes for protein drink) and also a slew of recipes broken down by each 2 week segment and breakfast, lunch and dinner. The proof will be once l actually get to try the plan. So far l am very pleased with the info and it seems to make alot of sense as to why l all of a sudden after the age of 50 the pounds are staying on (especially around the middle area).

As usual, Drs Eades have offered all the hard science on metabolism and weight loss in a very readable, accessible book. This time, they are speaking directly to the over 40 crowd, and what they have to say is invaluable. They will explain why your middle has grown, what's become of your poor, overfattened liver, and then they will walk you though the 'how to' on what to do about it.

The diet isn't that hard, really, because each phase is only 2 weeks long. Just about anyone can make a dietary change for 14 days. The shakes taste great and there are loads of options on flavours, the 'meat weeks' offer super tasty meals, and the last low carb eating phase is delicious. I would say the shake weeks are the hardest to get through, but it's not that bad, honestly. Once you have purged the fat from your liver and your middle, you can move onto the maintenance phase, and you could easily eat like that for the rest of your life and never feel deprived.

Do I believe it works for most? Well, yes, I do. Do I believe you need this information? Definitely, especially if you're over 40. Things really ARE differnt in middle age. Even if you don't do one day of the diet, read this book so you can learn about aging and metabolism. You'll thank yourself for it. The science is on their side, the food is just what natured ordered, and your body is craving what the Eades are offering.

I'd give it 4.5 if I could. Excellent information here.

Excellent book, just as previous titles from the authors. It's worth every penny for the information provided by the authors whom I highly respect for their up-to-date knowledge.
I just couldn't bring myself to drink protein shakes three times a day and just one meal for the first 2 weeks of the program; Very good idea, the shake recipe sounds good and very dense nutritionnaly. The plan is simple, yet I don't think I can sacrifice regular low-carb meals for shakes, since this plan is a way of doing reduced-calorie anyway, though keeping in the protein and good fat as the authors always advised.
