I felt the characters are very well developed and it seems to me that with each Women's Murder Club book that Patterson write a different woman is emphasized and you find out a little more about that specific woman! I love this! The book is easy to read and is also very quick to read. I highly recommend it, especially if you are a fan of Patterson's other Women's Murder Club book, as well as his other writing.
This tale revolves around two cases. A street dweller has been killed and, at first sight it appears he is something of a saint. At the same time someone is doing away with rich socialites, although it is not clear how they are being killed. As a bit of romantic side interest various relationships are shaping up.
I read through this within a few hours and ultimately enjoyed it rather more than I had initially expected. It does get better as it progresses. To be sure it is not the sort of book where you are going to remember the plot a few months down the line, but as a light holiday read it works. Incidentally this is co authored, as are many of Patterson's books. Although, naturally, he gets top billing I strongly suspect that the co-author did most of the work as, in particular, I thought the handling of the relationships had a woman's touch.
Like the previous novel in this series, this is fast read, one to buzz through in no time. If you are a suspense and heavy plot addict, this is a light version and fans will find it quite enjoyable.
"The 8th Confession" is an another glorified police procedural novel based around three cases: one includes streetwise con artists who recruit girls and turn them into crack dealers, another is an ex-beauty queen on trial for bludgeoning her father to death and the third is a psychopath who targets San Francisco's elite, murdering them with a krait, a type of snake. Detective Lindsay Boxer is called to investigate and the hunt to solve the mysteries requires the collective skills of the entire "Women's Murder Club".
This is another novel depending on writer James Patterson's reputation and his list of familiar characters.
