This review is from: The Adventures of Mali & Keela: A Virtues Book for Children (Paperback)
This is a great book. The stories are exciting, the illustrations are lovely, and the way the virtues are weaved through the stories is very nicely done. Rather than being labored or old-fashioned as some books in this genre are, this is a really fun and relevant read.
The adventures are beautifully written for kids. I was very impressed with the well thought out descriptions of virtues that the characters had demonstrated in the stories. The section at the end of each story was great for getting discussion happening and it really helped to get the children thinking and talking about virtues.
If you're looking for a book to read with your kids that is practical and rich in moral substance I highly recommend this one. There are valuable life lessons for everyone in this book. This should be on the bookshelf of every home, and they should put a copy in every classroom too!

This review is from: The Adventures of Mali & Keela: A Virtues Book for Children (Paperback)
"The Adventures of Mali & Keela: A Virtues Book For Children" is a series of thirteen chapter adventure stories that showcase four virtues per adventure for a total of 52 universally admired virtues explored at the end of the sailing trip. Each chapter contains an interactive section at the end to promote discussion and understanding of the four illustrated virtues, and an Index of Virtues is displayed at the end with pages listed for stories and discussion. "The Adventures of Mali & Keela" is designed to be read aloud, perhaps by older children to younger children. Its fun action and story lines are supported by its black and white drawings and illustrations. Children and adults will benefit from the discussion questions at the end of each adventure chapter. "The Adventures of Mali & Keela" is an imaginative stimulus to encourage children to become the best they can be.
