Amazing Jun 2 2004

Ishtar and Alabina are an amazing group. I have been following their music since 1997 when the hit song "Alabina" came out. But Ishtar is still alive because she has a concert on June 2nd (today) in New York City. I am not sure where David heard that she died?? Alabina the group is no longer together but you can still listen to Ishtar the lead singer of the group with her solo music. All of her songs are wonderful! Alabina for the white guy May 20 2004

My wife is from the Balkans and turned me on to the late Alabina. If only I had known of her before her untimely death! Her music sends me into a spell which no other can do. When she sings just Arabic music, with those beautiful instruments playing that Arabic beat, WOW! now I feel the mystery and passion of the culture! For me, I prefer she did not blend with the Latin guitar work as I feel it takes away from her true spirit. I enjoy the pure Arabic style she brings to the world. I wish I had the opportunity to see her perform! God bless her for what she gave us!
