While visiting a museum, Jennifer discovers an ancient Egyptian mummy. Behind the mummy is a painting of a woman that looks almost identical to her and has the name Dje-Nefer.While there, her grandmother's friend, Daoud gives her an amulet. When she opens it up, the dust inside sends her back in time and switches her place with that of Dje-Nefer! She soon discovers a plot to assassinate Hatchepsut. Will Jennifer find a way to save the queen and make it back to her own time? This is a fast-paced time travel adventure; the plot is intriguing and the characters are unique and well-developed. THE AMULET OF AMON-RA is a great blend of science and historical fiction. I heard the author read a section at an SF event. Anticipate a good story suitable for pre-teen readers and still fun for adults.

Suprise between the covers,

This book was given to me as a gift. I do not know if I would have picked it up on my own, based on the cover and blurb. But once I read the book I was wonderfully suprised. Between the cover were pages woven with mystery, history, and even science. I enjoyed it so much that I passed it on to my daughter and she loved it.
