Format:Paperback
Marie is dead. Her friends and family are left to cope with the loss while developing a better understanding of themselves in the process. She has left one confidante and a book behind to tell her story and reveal her unfortunate yet unmistakable plan. Through the memories of others, a portrait of Marie's life reveals her struggle with mental illness and broken family relationships that haunted her.

James is alive. A lost and broken hearted man, pressured by many to move on and let go of Marie, he struggles to accept life without her. He is the only one who knows the devastating truth about her death and the secret plagues him. Through a cloud of misery he comes to understand that Marie, with her unrelenting methods, had a plan for his life as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erin Dunham is new, provocative and worth your time. Jan 26 2011

You are never sure what to expect from a new author. Overwrought and over-thought prose? A plot or idea that never quite ignites?

No need to fear wasting your time on Erin Dunham; she's a gem who is impossibly wise for her age.

In the early going, she paints a beautiful picture without being a bore. The story flips from past to present, using flashbacks that make more and more sense as the plot builds. The characterization is fun and easy to relate to. I was sincerely (and happily) caught off guard by the twists as this sad story about relationships and healing builds.

True emotions were pulled from me for the final stretch of this gorgeous novel. The last 40 odd pages may have a few of my tears on them. Awesome work.

I look forward to seeing what Ms. Dunham does in her future works.

I wasn't sure what to expectwhen I picked this book up but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
Great depiction of how real people react to death; made me laugh and cry. I would recommend it to anyone.
