Book Description

May 17 2011
In the first golf book to link to smartphone video lessons, "the hottest instructor in golf" (Sports Illustrated) delivers a thirty-day greenside clinic for revolutionizing your full swing.

Stan Utley's breakthrough putting and short-game strategies have made him one of the most sought-after golf instructors in America. Over the years, he has noticed an added benefit to short-game enhancement: mastering the sequence of motion for a putting stroke, chip, or pitch shot is an integral part of mastering a superb full swing. In The Art of Sequencing Your Swing, Utley introduces the groundbreaking new instructional methods that grew from this discovery.

In this thirty-day program, Utley focuses on grip, stance, and posture for short-game shots, and teaches readers the new sequence of motion that will transform their swing. He puts additional guidance in their hands using a multimedia element: Readers can snap pictures of bar codes throughout the book that will tag original video lessons in an online library, bringing to life his winning techniques. Blending step- by-step instruction with anecdotes and examples from Utley's work with pro clients, The Art of Sequencing Your Swing offers priceless advice for transforming your game at any level.

"Stan has a great knowledge of the short game and a wonderfully simple way of getting his message across."

-Golf Digest

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book great technology Jun 15 2011
By Richard N Kishner - Published on Amazon.com

I never write reviews but I couldn't miss the chance to write the first review of this book. I am a big fan of Stan Utley, and while I have read all of his books, at times I have had some difficulty getting the feel of his short game swing instruction and had to make the leap of executing what I thought he meant. Sometimes I didn't get it right, so I end up reading Phil's hinge and hold or Tom Watson's short game book. The technology of incorporating the video instruction with the written instruction finally allows the author to give you both the technical instruction and feel in one unit. For example in explaining the low chip and run, he is able to give you the set up instruction, weight distribution, shoulder/forearm and hand position in written instruction and then demonstrate the feel of the shot immediately on the video. This allows you to go out and make the shot with a completely clear idea of what he wants you to do. His instruction really works. Not to knock other authors but in Tom Watson's DVD Lessons of a Lifetime you get the feel without the full setup instruction, without which you may lack Tom's consistency with these shots. Phil, who has a great technique, but does not go into detail on how to position your body weight and clubface and arm position for the various short game shots in his book leaves you guessing.

This technology of combining video and text is simply amazing when combined with excellent instruction. I bought the book, not realizing the incorporated video with the smart phone. It works, but it is even easier to use with your ipad (yes I bought another copy to download)

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Golf Instruction May 26 2012
By Don Lochary - Published on Amazon.com

Not only was this book full of valuable golf instruction but it included a special feature that burned in the instruction. After every several paragraphs of instruction there was a link to a YouTube short video that showed the author demonstrating a particular point. I think this video feature is the future for all kinds of instructional material.

this a great book, it has the ability to show you film clips from the internet if you learn better seeing than reading .the idea of sequencing your swing is something i never heard before, but the first time i golfed after reading the book , i hit my driver down the middle every time. i was amazed. learn how to get your three circles to contact at the same time and experience the differance yourself.
