However, the movie is a pleasure to watch over and over again. Rachel Leigh Cook shines as Mary Anne; quiet, reserved, and lovely. Plus Claudia, Dawn, and the rest of the club members were acted well. The movie is not just based on a single BSC book, but chooses to concentrate mainly on the relationship between Kristy and her Dad. She and the other club members also run a summer play camp, which they do many times in the book series, and it features true girl situations, from boys to bullies, from anger to laughter, from trouble with babies to cranky next door neighbors. The ending was cute and is the best part, definitely because Cokie gets what she deserves! For a BSC fan, this movie is very satisfying. Overall, a great movie that shows how fun true friends really are!!
Take that out and the movie was still not very good. The logic and logistics of the summer camp weren't spelled out very well and it's a wonder how such a summer camp could exist without adult supervision. The "villans" were overacted, and frankly I was glad when the movie was finaly over.
The Babysitter's Club decide to build a Summer Camp for little kids for the Summer. Some of the members of the Babysitter's Club have some of their own troubles like: Kristy's father returning home, Stacey lying to her boyfriend that she is 16 when she is actually 13, Mary Anne having to keep Kristy's secret a secret from the Club and Claudia's test that she is going to have to pass in order to stay in the club.
In the end, everything turns out good: Kristy's father leaves on the day of her birthday but sends letters everyday to her now instead once every year, Stacey's secret has finally been let out and her boyfriend still loves her, Mary Anne now has nothing to hide from the Club and Claudia passes her test. An amazing movie that can never be bored, I've watched it over and over again and I'm still loving it.
Expect to see Schuyler Fisk (plays Kristy Thomas), Bre Blair (plays Stacey McGill), Rachael Leigh Cook (my favorite actress. Plays Mary Anne Spier), Larisa Oleynik (plays Dawn Schafer), Tricia Joe (plays Claudia Kishi) and so on. It's a real good movie so if you haven't seen it, get off your butts and go out there and rent it!

You'll love this movie. I used to be hooked on the BSC books years ago when I was in middle--and even the beginning of high school. I saw this movie the day it came to theaters. Read morePublished on Aug. 25 2003 by Dee

Being a BSC fan, I saw this movie right when it came out, and I also have a copy of it at home. It's a great film with a good storyline, but I can't help wondering what was wrong... Read morePublished on July 25 2003 by MollyRK

Okay, I'm a teenager, and I haven't seen this movie in awhile. But in 1995, when I loved BSC, this was my /favorite/ movie. Read morePublished on July 22 2002
The movie was fun and great but some of it is unrealistic. Like, why wouldn't Kristy tell her best, best friends that her dad came back? Read morePublished on April 16 2000 by Charity Campbell
