Right off the bat: I recommend this video to everyone just starting out in Home-Recording.
This DVD teaches you the basics of Recording, just as the title suggests. I like Dave's approach in this video; he avoids using the 'Engineer's lingo', instead he explains fundamental essentials in a very easy manner.
For the absolute beginner, this DVD is a valuable source to get started, for the more intermediate engineer, just as myself, there will still be the one or other 'wow - i didn't know that'- experience.
As always, DVD's are too short to pack all the details on one disk, so Dave refers to his website to retrieve more info on his videos. Unfortunately, this website no longer exists, so one has to google it.
All in all - a simple-to-understand tutorial DVD that deals with the basics of Recording/Engineering. A guide to get started.
Still - the need to learn more lingers on ... but there are three more DVD's out there to watch.
