The Best of Doreen Virtue [Audiobook] [Audio CD]

First off, I NEVER write reviews. I love reading them, but I'm too lazy to write one myself. Not this time! I've actually had this cd set for several years, but hadn't made the time to listen to them. Really, I think I wasn't ready spiritually to do this deep inner work. Boy! I didn't know what type of ride I was in for! I listened to the Karma Releasing cd (haven't listened to the others yet...sorry!) since I thought it'd be most helpful for me at this point as I feel completely blocked financially, romantically, in friendships...you name the problem and I have a block in my life to represent it! Anyhow, I figured this cd would help me begin to uncover these blocks so I can begin to get on with whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing in this life.

Doreen begins this cd with an explanation of karma. She gives a fantastic explanation. She also includes some background from A Course in Miracles, of which I'm a student. When she touched on that in her explanation I was beginning to cringe because the Course is usually misinterpreted and used to give support to things that are totally at odds with the message Jesus presents in the Course. This was not the case with Doreen's explanation. Her interpretation of the Course was sound.

Next, Doreen goes into the karma releasing meditation. I'd say the only areas for improvement would be that the relaxation portion or induction (I believe that's what it's called) could be a little longer. Also, her voice is not the most soothing. She could speak a little more softly. Last, the ending just kind of leaves you hanging. You'll know to open your eyes etc., but I felt it should have a couple of lines saying something to the effect of: now you'll awaken gently and feel peaceful (something along those lines). Having said that, those things don't really matter the further along you listen to the cd. The karma releasing was so thorough that I found myself crying (not sobbing) as I felt negative issues with people in my life (or past lives) were brought up. I would get upset and then as she said to release that pain I would with a deep breath and then get calm again. I also found myself breathing deeply during some portions and felt myself (my torso) shuddering. (I'm not sure if I was shuddering because she mentioned that in the beginning of the cd or what.) Needless to say, I opened my eyes feeling like I released old, negative karma and that I can get on to the next thing in my life, whatever that is. I feel like I'm on the road to emotional recovery and I can now set my sight on living up to my full potential.

*The kicker*-This is the part of the whole experience that totally blew me away. About 3-4 hours after listening the the cd I felt itchy. My neck felt itchy, my chest, stomach and right thigh. I was thinking what the heck?? So I go into my bathroom to look at those areas. I was floored to find raised itchy, red patches in all of those areas! My neck and upper chest area was the worst. I didn't scratch too much for fear I'd make it worse, but at the same time I felt calm. I felt the itchy patches were a symptom of my karma being released. The whole experience was surreal. I think I would've been really freaked out if I wasn't ready for this spiritually. In a way I was actually happy that I had the patches! I know...totally crazy. I'm happy to report that today (a day later) all of the itchiness and red patches are gone. I have a few raised patches here and there, but nothing to write home about. Also, the only thing I did to treat it was rubbed aloe vera gel on those areas. And no, for anyone wondering, I have never broken out like that before. It was just the most amazing thing to see. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this after a karma releasing.

So, to wrap up, 5 stars for Doreen! Excellent work!

I loved all the meditations,very well done,very relaxing. Ideal for anyone on the spiritual path.

Although I did not find the other 3 cd's that came with the set as useful, the second cd with past life regression was unbelievably strong. I never realised I could get so deep into regression with the help of a cd! Great buy just for this cd!! I was able to deal with some issues in this lifetime by seeing where the issues came from! I clearly saw and felt myself in an old, dark French farmhouse (or equivalent). I was a French woman in her 30's with a baby in my arms and a loving husband. We were very poor, and couldn't afford to buy food which then led me to die of hunger. My husband whom I loved deeply then abandonded me on my deathbed... This has provided me answers to my attitude towards food and why I have a strong feeling that my fiancee and myself are "a match made in heaven" (literally)and why I keep getting the feeling that my baby girl is really my fiancee's baby (although not biologically, but on some other, higher level)... And why it is that I keep insisting that my fiancee is one day going to abandon me... As I have now had this powerful regression experience I have been able to deal with my fears and they no longer haunt me!! I believe that my fiancee and I have found each other again so that he can amend the mistake of leaving me when I needed him the most in our past life!
