Book Description

Jan 1 2010 100 Best Things I've Sold
An entertaining, touching, and inspiring chronicle of the author's most memorable eBay adventures, this book uses the world of online auctions as the setting for a personal story of friendship, loss, and growth. Lynn Dralle is the granddaughter of Cheryl Leaf, an antiques dealer and larger-than-life personality. Over the years, Lynn came to depend not only on her grandmother's broad knowledge of antiques and her business insights, but also on her wisdom, strength of character, and humor.Near the end of her grandmother's life, Lynn returned home to help run the family antiques store. To boost business, she began buying and selling on eBay. As Lynn weaves memories of her grandmother into stories about the items she has sold on eBay, she creates a book that is partly a memoir of the woman who inspired and brought together her entire family and partly a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to succeed on eBay. Through it all, Lynn's fresh and enthusiastic voice keeps the tone upbeat. This book appeals to everyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! July 19 2004
Format:Paperback
I loved reading The 100 Best Things I've Sold on eBay. This book is extremely well laid out and easy to understand. The author gives great examples and the specific details of the items that she sold on e-bay. To me these examples were useful because she shares the amount of money that she paid for the item and not just the amount of money that she made from selling the item. A personal story accompanies each example which gives the book a great touch. After reading this book, I realized that I can make money with my "junk" because the author really proves that your trash can be someone else's treasure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Ebay Book Out There! Sep 22 2004
By Busy Mom - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is a must read for anyone who dabbles in Ebay. The book is highly entertaining and extremely informative. I've been a seller on Ebay for four years, and picked up a lot of helpful tips from this book. Lynne tells it the way it is, and she's not afraid to say when she's made mistakes on Ebay (haven't we all?). I've read her book cover to cover three times, and can't wait for the next installment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but Grandma stories got old Aug 23 2006
By G. Pinkall - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I thought this book was interesting, but I wish there was more useable information and less talk about Grandma. I understand that Grandma played an important part but I was looking for more. I hope in future books the author could talk more about how she aquired items (not inherited) and how they did at auction. This author has great style and I stilled learned a lot from reading this.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to eBay Successfully--And So Much More! April 20 2005
By Sherri Caldwell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The 100 Best Things I've Sold on eBay is a fascinating case study of 100 of the author's auction experiences on eBay as she successfully transitioned her grandmother's antique business from a storefront in Bellingham, Washington, to the online marketplace. Lynn Dralle, The Queen of Auctions, tells her story, and her grandmother's, as she recounts each auction. She give a brief history of each item, how she came to acquire it, how she priced and listed the item on eBay, how it sold, and for how much, along with pictures.

This book is presented in such a unique format, with great pictures and design, story and heart--it's very easy and enjoyable to read. It is much more than a catalog-ish 100 Best, because Lynn Dralle is one heck of a writer and storyteller, and crafted this book into a wonderful story of family, history, relationships, travel, and ultimately, a single mother, taking up her legacy, following her passion, and building a business to support herself and her children.

100 Best Things is a great book to learn how to eBay. It is also an inspiring story for entrepreneurial women, a primer of hope for those who may be searching for a way to build a career and a business around life and responsibilities with children.
