This Baby Book is perfect for us and our 'baking' baby! The old fashioned style pictures and poems from places such as nursery rhymes, Dr Seuss, and quality children's books make it wholesome and friendly. The content and writing space is adequate with enough time before the baby is born and after. I love it! Reminds me of my own baby book.

Cute Vintage Design, but Disappointing Quality and Construction May 17 2011
By Just a Bookworm - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Other reviewers are correct about the adorable vintage look of this book, the cute illustrations, and the wide variety of appealing quotes. However, I am still disappointed with it. It is not the quality I was hoping for, neither in terms of being archival and lasting for decades nor in terms of the printing, paper, binding and actual quality of construction. I am a librarian, so maybe these qualities matter more to me than they do to others. The paper in the book has a sheen. I cannot imagine being able to write on it with a regular ball point pen without letting it dry before closing the book. Even then, I fear smudges because of the sheen on the paper. The finish might require a fine point Sharpie. However, I am afraid that a Sharpie will bleed through or be seen through the paper, which is not that thick. (You can see through the page to the image on the back of the page when you hold the page up in a room with regular daylight.) Also, the corners and spine of this book are not made of the most durable material, and I can already see that at least the corners are going to be highly susceptible to dings. As at least one other reviewer mentioned, this book does not have any sort of envelopes or holders to add extra items that you would like to preserve with the book. This is a major con for me. I would prefer envelopes or at least an optional storage box with drawers or compartments to go with this book. However, I am not deducting from the rating on the basis of a box since I don't think it's fair to expect a companion storage box with compartments for the relatively low price of this book. It does have a growth chart to fill in, which I think is requisite in a baby book. It has sections in the back for you to paste in baby pictures, but the space seems to be a little limited. Most of the room for journaling does seem quite generous, but the layout is designed for you to answer the prompts given by the author(s), and you will have to be creative if you would like to add your own content. It looks like I will be returning this and moving on to something else in the hopes of finding better quality and durability.

I absolutely LOVE this book April 9 2013
By JBebe - Published on Amazon.com

This baby book is BEAUTIFUL. It is really the perfect balance of cute illustrations (which are SO vintage and adorable), cute quotes about babies and growing up, blank spaces to write things, and spaces for photos.

ILLUSTRATIONS
Totally vintage and so cute. There are lots of animals, fairies, babies, storks, children, bunnies, etc...it's like an old vintage children's book. There are LOTS of illustrations of babies, some clothed and some not (very vintage), but always tasteful.

QUOTES
I LOVE the quotes they included. There are just enough to give the book lots of charm and character, but not so many that it makes it kitschy or anything. They are really nice quotations, mostly from children's books. A few examples:

"If you become a bird and fly away from me," said his mother, "I will be a tree that you come home to." - The Runaway Bunny, Margaret Wise Brown

"A person's a person, no matter how small." - Dr. Seuss

"This little piggy went to market..." etc.

"The five little puppies dug a hole under the fence...and went for a walk in the wide, wide world." - The Poky Little Puppy

and many more.

SPACE TO WRITE
There is a TON of space to write, with great prompts and questions to get you writing. For someone who really wants to keep a nice record/journal of their child's early years, this is an excellent starting point. Includes space for so much information, including family history, the pregnancy, thoughts of the parents, info about the family, baby's home, baby's birth day, the world baby was born into, baby's firsts, cute sayings, friends, teeth, birthday celebrations, bathtime, favorite things to eat, etc. etc. etc. A good mix of one-line answer spaces and paragraphs.

SPACE FOR PHOTOS
There is a LOT of space for photos, which I really love because I take so many pictures of my children (I just counted, there are over 70 spots for photos - and I love how each includes the dimensions of the "frame" so it makes it super easy to get the correct size printed). Photo spaces are a mix of rectangles, squares and circles.

Overall, this is a beautiful, timeless baby book that will be loved and cherished by your child. It is very gender-neutral. I LOVE it and highly recommend it.

Adorable vintage book July 1 2014
By Robyn M. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Adorable vintage drawings, lots of places to write and include pictures, and all sorts of prompts to give you ideas to write about from pregnancy to your kid's fifth year. The pages are of thick, high quality glossy paper. The only down side to this is smeary pen ink, so make sure the ink dries before you shut this book. This book is a gem that my child wil love poring over later on in life!

Very unique June 24 2013

I love the writing prompts in this book. There are spaces for cute milestones and memories that many books do not include. The pictures and quotes are great too. Big space for pictures and many pages for free style writing.

Sweet May 9 2013
By Kathryne Abramson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This book has really sweet poems and story excerpts in it and is very well laid out. The only things I don't like about it is the texture of the pages and the photo options. The paper is slightly slippery so you have to wait for the ink to dry so it doesn't smudge. The picture area in the book are labeled. ("insert 3x5 picture here" for example) so if you don't have a picture that size or don't want to include a picture in that space, you're left with this awkward place in your book.
