Dr. Lipton explains cellular biology in a clear and easily understood text. This book should be required reading for all 1st year bio or biochem majors. Dr. Lipton successfully rebukes the dogma of the DNA in our genes as having the ultimate control over our biology and our lives. Epigenetics is definitely the new and more significant focus of cellular biology. As a practicing physician the fact that diet trumps genes, (in fact diet, exercise,lifestyle,attitude and environment trumps genes) is an absolutely liberating fact and should be for all other doctors and their patients in these times of ever increasing rates of chronic disease. Dr. Lipton's scientific foundation is solid and for anyone interested in practicing medicine according to epigenetics where genotype does not necessarily lead to chronic disease-phenotype,I suggest that they contact the Institute of Functional Medicine for their clinical course material. As for Lillian's review, hmmm, simply put, I think she missed the point.

Well it's about time! For those of you who have been plagued by the dogma of DNA (genetic determinism or fatalism) will find this book beyond inspiring! We have been told by western biology that the DNA is the at the heart of who we are, with the DNA in the cell nucleus being the brain of what activates and makes the cell function and control the rest of the body's activities. From this model (actual called the 'DOGMA OF DNA' in Biology teachings) ALL life is DNA in motion and we are genetic beings with all our diseases and traits (physical & mnetal) pre-determined. This model/paradigm has become a key part of the very structured and defined mechanistic biological pharmaceutical medicine we see domniating the West today (sigh).

BUT in this book Lipton has flipped this notion upside with the profound discovery that the DNA in the nucleus is in fact is NOT the brain or determining factor of the body. Lipton deconstructs the dogma by showing the mem-BRANE of the cell is the brain that is driving and determining the cells activities which equal the rest of the body and its functions. The key here is the signals that are recieved by the cells mem-BRANE. These signals consist of input from the environment but mainly the thoguhts of the individual. He shows that when we become response-able and can pro-actively use our thoughts to cohere with the cells activities we have profound influence over their behavior. THOUGHTS INFLUENCE BIOLOGY, now who chooses your thoughts?? When one controls the signals they control the cells and this changes everything we thought we knew about cell, the human body and ultimately dis-ease.

I found this book to be an important piece of the 'beyond the BLEEP' new science information that truly shows how 'our thoughts control our reality'. The BLEEP opens up the dialogue but with not much advice on how to now engage this perspective. Lipton's book is a beacon for it truly shows how this revision of perspective can radically empower YOU to know how and why you are able to change your life. Unlock the power of your mind as it is a key piece of opening up to higher levels of operation inetranlly and exteranlly.

The Biology of Belief is almost beyond belief as it is apart of the next phase of the new sciences that are dogma shattering. This book is a leap forward :
knowledge is power -
self-knowledge is self-empowerment -
all you have to do is believe it!

Finally, a book that provides some scientific insights as to how our thoughts can affect the physical body. With Dr. Lipton's knowledge on cellular biology, it brings to light a brand new understanding of how the body operates.

In layman's terms, Dr. Lipton is able to use cellular biology and quantum physics to explain the inner workings of our cells and how our environment turns our genes 'on' and 'off'. This theory may also provide an explanation on how alternative disciplinaries such as energy work, massage and homeopathic medicine help in promoting health.

The Epilogue is especially insightful as Dr. Lipton explains the relationship between spirit and science. I have always find it difficult to understand mind-bloggling spiritual sayings such as 'we are made in the image of the Universe/God' or 'we are all ONE', as well as the true meaning of 'self'. Dr. Lipton uses lively examples and easy-to-understand wording to explain these spritual notions with a scientific touch to them.

A very intriguing book to read. There is now more evidence that we do have a say in controlling our own health physically, mentally, emotionally as well as spiritually.

A must read for alternative health practitioners!

The New Biology! Thank the Universe for Bruce & his books! This is one fantastic book that explains so much about how life really works. Lisez davantage
