I loved reading this book with loads of pictures and behind the scenes info. I can't tell you how many times I've referred to it, either to look up an episode or guest star. My favorite behind the scenes story is when Lee Majors drove by the set of Bionic Woman and saw Lindsay working on a scene. He stopped his car got out and ran up to her and gave her a hug, ran back to his car and drove off without saying a word. Priceless.

I don't usually write a lot of reviews but I wanted to give some balance to the negative comments regarding this book. I just received it and spent most of the night reading it. I thought it was a blast. Kudos to Herbie J Pilato for taking the time and energy to put this together. Let's face it...when people my age (39) and over leave this earth, there isn't going to be anyone around who cares enough about these great shows to release a book like this. It's fine to say that the photos aren't the best and that one can find better pictures on the Internet. But I'm old school and I like to have an ACTUAL concrete book in my hands that I can enjoy at my leisure. I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way.Sure there might be some factual errors. In fact, Pilato's book on "Bewitched" had some misstatements as well but that didn't stop people from finding it a useful resource. (For example, he stated that Billy Mumy made his first appearance on that show when he had starred in several "Twilight Zone" episodes well before "Bewitched" even hit the airwaves.) The one criticism I really don't understand is the fact that "Bionic Book" doesn't include anything on the new show. I couldn't care less. I guarantee you that this updated version will NOT be fondly remembered or talked about in 30 years. Mark my words. Also - the comment about the size is strange because most of these guides are about the same size. I have yet to see a coffee table-style book for these things. Is this the definitive work on "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Bionic Woman"? Who knows? Perhaps Ben from California will have the resources some day to write his own book. I'll certainly buy that one too. For now...if you're a fan of these terrific shows, you really can't go wrong with something like this. Episode guides and input from Lee Majors, Lindsay Wagner and Richard Anderson....what's not to like? Often when I order books on my favorite shows, I feel once again like a seven-year old in third grade (circa 1976) excitedly waiting for a package to arrive in my classroom from Scholastic. "Bionic Book" gives me that feeling and it's a lot of fun. A little expensive, but as any Amazon buyer knows...the price fluctuates so you might want to wait until it goes down to a more reasonable amount. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful

WOW! This book is great. When it arrived, I was so excited. After opening the box, I was surprised because the book appeared smaller than I had anticipated, approximately 8.5 x 6. It was not spiral-wired bound, with lots of glossy color photos and neat title/character write-ups. However, upon reading the book, the pages flew by as did the hours. The book is almost 400 pages long--alot of information provided here! There are b/w photos, some I had never seen. I especially liked the front and back covers, the color photos are well chosen. There are behind-the-scenes extras provided, some of which I had not heard before. Each series and the reunion movies are high-lighted at the back, listing writer, producer, stars, etc. Each episode is numbered and dated as aired.What I liked most was the respect for each person as presented, especially those who are no longer with us. Many, many of the great stars/guest stars are now departed, and most are given dates and some the reasons why *(Ex. Dennis Patrick who played Carlton Harris, died 10/13/02 in his home from smoke inhallation. He was 84.)* And believe me, I never realized just how many stars were guests, especially on the SMDM! Far too many to list here. From sport stars (Frank Gifford) to actresses such as Suzanne Somers to Kathleen Beller to the Van Pattens and even Joan Van Ark! The was Lloyd Bochner, Chuck Conners, and John Houseman! Stephanie Powers, Sandy Duncan, and Andy Griffith! I counted over 100 well-known people and I am not done yet! Do yourself a favor and get this book! It is now my favorite and a good resource if EVER these shows make it to DVD! I have found this book to be useful for many reasons but the main one for getting it is the guides for all the episodes. I have the DVDs from the UK but they don't have descriptions for the shows. These guides have been reliable and helpful. They've also been educational since I never knew some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that went on in the making of the two series.
