Product Description

From Amazon.com

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has alternately described his band's third album as "completely over the top" and "borderline psychotic." But even those words can't adequately prepare fans of the group's 2004 platinum major-label debut, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, for the onslaught of twisted song suites, glam-rock cannon fire and drama-club theatrics that make up The Black Parade. Tracks like "Mama" and "The End" make "Bohemian Rhapsody" sound like "Blitzkrieg Bop." It's no coincidence that the disc feels as dizzyingly monumental as Green Day's American Idiot--after all, the two albums share the same label, producer, studio, janitorial team, and sense of apocalyptic dread. Similarly, The Black Parade will cast its creators in a completely new light. Despite its overly histrionic tendencies and a totally oddball cameo from Liza Minelli, it offers a clear signal that My Chemical Romance is ready to be taken seriously. --Aidin Vaziri

I have to say I was not expecting anything like "Three Cheers...", and I'm not familiar with their previous work, but based on what I hear, this is a damn good album!

This is an album that, like "Three Cheers...", has a flow and tells a story. Unlike "Three Cheers...", this album has a number of songs that are potential singles!

On the last album, I'll admit I did often-times skip songs cuz they were either boring or too long...this album is friendly to the ear, yet still has that infectious rock sound that emo has provided us.

The first single was well chosen for obvious reasons...it sums up the concept of the album, and since it is the title track it should sum up the album, which it does.

Other tracks besides the lead single that I can say stand out would be "Dead", "This Is How I Disappear", "I Don't Love You", and everything from "Cancer" up to "Disenchanted."

"Blood" (the hidden track) is quite funny...kind of a Monty Python feel to it.

I wouldn't say the album is a must-have, but it definitely is a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, Jun 9 2007
This review is from: The Black Parade (Audio CD)
I just recently became a MCR fan and wonder why I hadn't been a fan before! I had heard of them but it wasn't until I heard "Welcome to the Black Parade" and "I Don't Love You" that I decided to find out more about their music and I'm glad I did! Their lastest CD, "The Black Parade" is really amazing. All the tracks are great which is often rare on any CD you buy, with usually only a few good tracks present. But that's not the case for MCR's CD. I've also checked out their previous CDs & will definitely be getting them sometime. I'd absolutely recommend this CD for anyone and would encourage anyone new to MCR to check the CD out, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, Mar 11 2007
This review is from: The Black Parade (Audio CD)
this is actually a really good album, and a huge improvement from their Three Cheers...

and yeah, some of the musical structure is similar to Pink Floyd or Queen, but the similarities end there.

the blend of the instruments and arrangements are really refreshing and surprisingly original (considering most mainstream acts now-a-days).

The vocals are done well, and the lyrics (and concept) are also impressive.

9/10, good job.
