Personal Branding info is timeless, though marketing methods dated Jan. 27 2011

I enjoyed this book and love when author's use case studies to prove points. It gives great ideas. The info on personal branding and how to develop yours as a theory is timeless, but there was also a lot of information regarding how to market yourself that was dated. Perhaps there's a new edition that talks about how Facebook and other social media are best used, but mine only went so far as to how to set up a web site. Blogs aren't even on the map.

It's a great start to building your personal brand, and I've already incorporated some of it into my online bio and blog. As an image consultant, this is definitely the best marketing strategy for connecting with my clientele.

This book is chock full of great ideas that are completely applicable for anyone who is willing to take some time and effort. It's an easy read and an easy follow. As I read through each chapter, I got more excited about the possibilities not only for me, but for others that I know. I will be recommending this book to everyone I know who is any kind of entrepreneur. My brain is cooking with opportunities and ideas. My husband is a realtor and I will definitely be giving him the book to read next. Of course, not everyone can use every idea, but overall, most of these ideas can be put into practice with just a little imagination and initiative. I particularly enjoyed the Case Studies at the end of each chapter giving real life examples of how to utilize what is discussed in that chapter.

I would give 10 stars for this book. I underlined, soaked in every word and advice from this book. If you are looking to rebrand your business or starting a new, this book is for you. There's no need to get others, I've got two other books on the same subject, but I don't really want to read as they don't even come close to this book.
