5.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Warm Western Romance, Aug 22 2010

I picked this up for a second read right after I'd re-read "The Tin Star" by the same author. I found the same style of writing here with sympathetic protagonists, pretty well true to life characters and a story line that carries the reader along very well. I'm not sure that rural America, especially in convervative Texas, is quite as ready to accept a gay elected sheriff as it seems to be in this tale but that aside this book is a good read. There's plenty of steamy sex for those who are looking for it but I didn't get the feeling that everything else was just a filler between scenes in bed. We'd heard mention of Sheriff Gray Hunter in "The Tin Star" so it was nice to read on and learn more about this character. I liked this book and while I'd be the first to admit that this is not in the top 100 of great American novels of all time, for an entertaining m/m romance that lets the reader escape for a few hours it's pretty darned good.

I am concerned that the publisher chose to "warn" readers that this is as "homoerotic love story...".
Am I safe to assume, that in this enlightened day and age, there may also be warnings that I may
buy a "heterosexual love story" that might be offensive to some readers???

Publishers need to think about this!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Broken H, Nov 30 2007
This review is from: The Broken H (Paperback)
Another feel good read. I enjoyed the characters Shane and Grayson.I like
how J.L. Langley made me feel thier depth of emotions for each other.
You can see how they were soul mates right from the time that Shane joined
the family'ranch all those years before, and how protective he was of Grayson right from the start. I can't wait for the next book, hopefully
John and Royals story? Both books The Tin Star, and The Broken H are my
favorite love stories, that I know I will read over and over.
