You DO Matter!,
By
This review is from: The Butterfly Effect: How Your Life Matters (Hardcover)
Do you walk through life at times feeling that nothing you do is important? When you look around does it seem that your life has no impact? Then The Butterfly Effect - How Your Life Matters, the new book by Andy Andrews is a must read.He begins with Edward Lorenz's hypothesis that the flapping wings of one butterfly begin motion that could eventually start a hurricane and moves on to share stories of seemingly small or insignificant acts that had profound life changing effects on the world. I read through this short gift book quickly, but have spent much time pondering the simple truths revealed within its few words. This book will bring hope and encouragement to many. I could sense the voice of our loving God speaking through the pages, reminding us that He indeed created us with a plan and a purpose. My one complaint is that I wanted more. If Andy chooses to expand on this in a full length book I would surely be anxious to read it. I suggest that you keep an extra copy of The Butterfly Effect to pass on to friends and family. You might just start a chain reaction of life altering proportion. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the [...] book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

cool ideas, just not my style,

This review is from: The Butterfly Effect: How Your Life Matters (Hardcover)
with precious little else that piqued my interest on the booksneeze review list, i picked up "the butterfly effect" by andy stanley. a writer of gift books and fiction stories. inspirational. the stuff i usually steer clear from. if i'm being honest, i got it mostly because it was something i thought i could give to someone some day. and i probably will. it took about 10 minutes to read, if that. but it's about our lives and how they matter and will make a difference. using the popularized theory of the butterfly effect, he talks about how one act at one point in time can make all the difference in the world down the road and encourages us to see our lives as valuable and worth something more. i thought it was cool. its certainly not the style of book i am accustomed to reading, but it was better than i expected, and for that i will give it a thumbs up. it's the same kind of message that i share with my kids all the time and want them to believe. inspirational stories (although i didn't like the one that glorified war) and well written with good visuals. a good gift for someone who needs that message. 3/5 on the blair-o-meter.

The Butterfly Effect Review,

This review is from: The Butterfly Effect: How Your Life Matters (Hardcover)
Book: The Butterfly EffectAuthor: Andy Andrews Publisher: Thomas Nelson ISBN: 978-1-4041-8780-1 Genre: Self-help, motivational I recently received the new book, The Butterfly Effect, by Andy Andrews. My First Impression was pleasant surprise. The book is a quick read, under 10 minutes in fact. It is written in large letterhead type with easy to understand terminology. It is the story of a number of people who changed the world, and how their lives were impacted by others. It is a story of the effect our every decision and action has on everyone around us. It is a call to rise to action... "Every single thing you do matters. You have been created as one of a kind. You have been created in order to make a difference. You have within you the power to change the world." (pp.105) Who this book is good for: This book is fantastic if you want an inspiration. It is a great gift book to anyone, especially a young adult. Overall, I would highly recommend this book. Sit down and read the inspiration that others left for us. And take a moment to consider that the person you are will touch others, even if it doesn't feel like it. **I received this complimentary review copy from Thomas Nelson Publishers
