4.0 out of 5 stars A New Challenge for Morgan Aug. 27 2003
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Morgan has overcome Cal and his mother. They are no longer a threat. But Cal's mother was part of an evil coven and they know Morgan is around.
A dream/nightmare has Morgan, Hunter (the seeker) and some of the rest of the coven heading for New York City. The International Council of Witches believes that an evil witch is going to sacrifice his son to increase his powers. This allows Morgan and Hunter to go (along with his sister Sky and her girlfriend Raven). Bree and Robbie also go as Bree's father has a place they can stay in the city.
Morgan also tries to use the time to learn more about her mother (she had lived in New York City for a couple of years).
But everything changes when the evil witch rears his head and tires to kill Morgan and not his son Killian.
Well, there are plenty more books in the series so you probably know that Morgan survives but you will have to read it to find out about the others. There are personal and relationship developments aplenty and some plot twists and revelations that help set up the next few books.
A pretty good addition to the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book, Sad Ending May 30 2002
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Morgan has a wierd dream one night She tells Hunter about her dream. Then Hunter told the Council. The Council told Hunter that the people in Morgans' dream could be the people from the Amyranth cell in New York City. Since the Council doesn't know much about the cell in New York, they send Hunter to investigate, but Morgan and the rest of her coven tag along anyway. Morgan is excited about spending time alone with Hunter, but Hunter tells her to not follow him while he's investigating; that she should go shooping, to muesums, in other words, play tourist. So, Morgan decides to visit her mothers apartment from when she lived there. Then one night while she was at a club, she goes outside and meets this stranger that she feels that she has a connection with, and in the club, she meets Killian. Then when things fall into place, it seems like that Killian was the person in her dream that she needed to protect. So Morgan goes after the coven, and she finds out that the person leading it was her mother's soulmate, and murderer. Will she make it out alive?
OK, as you can tell, this was a really good book. And, as you can tell from the title of my review, this had a really sad ending. I'm not gonna say, cuz it might seem kinda obvious.

5.0 out of 5 stars The irony of it all! Jan. 29 2002
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is an amazing book that creates many mind twists and hard jolts. Morgan has been having disturbing dreams involving a sacrafice that the concil wants Hunter to check out AND Morgan much to Hunter's dislike in New York City. (aww...how cute, anyway) They go along with Bree, Robby, Sky, and Raven(all the couples)to Bree's fathers apartment who is barly ever there. ooo la la. Hunter is gone most the time with Sky so Morgan is really bummed. Mean while Morgan meets a few strangers who she feels connected somehow with. Who are they and who is this stranger about to be sacraficed??! Time is running out. Okay people get ready for the grand daddy of all suprises! actually TWO but hey, whoes counting? I give Miz Tiernan a LOT of pretty smelling roses for this mind spinner! Truth be told the last page is what killed me! i mean i LOVED it but gosh darn it! i wanted MORE. Talk about an emotional rollercaoster that makes ya want to throw up! Alas, my eyes blur with the fact that i don't have book 8 yet! i know i know. but they say NO spoilers. :(

5.0 out of 5 stars Woo hoo!! Dec 19 2001
By Hellion
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Morgan has a starteling dream. It shows someone in trouble. Someone who will die unless she protects them. As soon as she tells Hunter, and he tells the council, they immediately think that they need to find whoever Morgan saw.
This leads them to New York. Hunter tells Morgan not to get involved in anything because he doesn't want to see her get hurt by the coven he is trying to find, but Morgan immediately goes off to search for clues as to why Ciaran, her mother's own Muirn Beatha Dian, would kill his very own soulmate.
Clues to whomever was in Morgan's vision points to Killian. But when Hunter and Morgan go after the coven, will it be a trap? What will finding the coven reveal? Will it be something that Morgan will regret? Read and find out!
I loved this!! But the ending was REALLY sad. I CRIED! But, honestly, this was a really good book. What Morgan finds out is something that you totally do not expect, and leaves you in a daze even after you finish the book. Enjoy!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the last! Nov. 27 2001
Format:Mass Market Paperback
In Cate Tiernan's new book The Calling, Morgan has been haunted with terrifying dreams of animals and magick. When she tells hunter this he senses they might be important so he tells the council of it and they agree. Soon Morgan, Hunter, Sky, Raven, Robbie, and Bree are off on a road trip to NYC (as the city photos on the cover suggests). Morgan is interested in learning what her dreams mean and getting closer to Hunter but neither of those options seem open. Hunter is out looking around all day and no one knows what's really going on. Then without warning, Morgan is thrown head first into magickal mayhem that she never suspected. By the end of the book she has made two shocking revealations that will change her forever.
This book was just as good as the last. Once again Cate Tiernan has written a thrilling book about magick, love, and finding oneself. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who has been following the series, in fact I find it nessicary. This is a very important edition in Morgans life and an equally important edition to the series. I can't wait till the next book!
