Book Description

May 28 2009
Captain Eric Hamilton is a powerful force in the U.S. Navy, having earned himself a reputation of being a hard-nosed chauvinist. He's commander of the USS Larsen, a destroyer, currently deployed in the Persian Gulf during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Abby Carlton has just escaped from the man who held her captive for a year. Abducted while traveling in Paris, she was given to an Arab man as a gift, until one night she makes her desperate escape. While on patrol one morning Captain Eric Hamilton discovers a dinghy floating aimlessly. Abby is found, battered and in an advanced state of pregnancy, lying in the bottom of the dinghy. From the moment she lay on the deck of his ship her honest innocence finds a way to penetrate his hardened heart. But time is running out. Eric is falsely accused of sexual assault and the CIA wants Abby and the baby for bait to flush out her captor, who is suspected of recent terrorist activity in the gulf.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Captain's Lady May 24 2011
Format:Paperback
From the first few pages, the author captivated me with Abby and Eric's love story. I liked the navy ship's setting and the diverse characters that Ms. Ekehart presented to us. It was romantic, but at the same time the suspense was drawn out and she mixed the sweet with the salty. Her heroine found her perfect hero and for me, it's why I read romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intrigue and Romance on the High Seas Feb 6 2010
Format:Paperback
The Captain's Lady
High drama, fast paced, intrigue but above all a strong romance yarn are words I would use to describe this story told by Eckhart. While on patrol the captain chances to find a dinghy afloat in the Northern Arabian Gulf; this is a known hostile area which makes the first question whether this is a trap or something else. Navy personnel are sent to intercept the dinghy which contains a very pregnant, brutalized Caucasian female.
The hero, Captain Hamilton accepts responsibility for the safety of the waif of a woman he has found. The "waif", Abby, develops a trust with the Captain. This trust builds into a romantic relationship.
Intrigue, speculation and some antagonistic scenes sprinkled throughout the story makes the whole narrative plausible. The Captain shines as a true hero, however he also has past secrets which he is able to settle.
I could not put the book down! I still read pages here and there. I have sent copies to my daughter and to my sister for their enjoyment.
A well composed, excellent read.

This is one of my favorites and I've read more romance stories than I'll admit to. This story has a bit of everything thrown in. The Captain...he is a wonderfully human and falable man. I'm just finishing up reading it for the second time. I hope there is another in this same vein? I'll have to check that out....
Very good reading and excellent writing. Keep 'um coming.....I'll bet watching for more!
Thank you!
