One Incredible Soundtrack,
By notsuperman (St. John's, NL, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Chronicles of Narnia (Audio CD)
When I heard that Harry Gregson-Williams was going to be making the score for the film version of one of my favourite fantasy novels I was excited to hear what the final product would be. Gregson-Williams has created a masterpiece of a modern soundtrack. It blended beautifully with the film's scenes but unlike many scores this one outshines its film in quality. I honestly thought the movie was slightly better than mediocre but the soundtrack is precisely what it ought to be in order to capture the great story of C.S. Lewis. It is epic and intimate, friendly and mystical, comforting and frightening. As for the four extra songs at the end of the soundtrack: "Can't Take It In" is a beautiful song sung by an incredible songstress. As for the other three songs, they are easily forgettable.

An amazing score to go with the movie,

Wow. When you listen to the music from the movie, you can relive every moment you love, and grin foolishly as you stare off into space. Or maybe that's just me.The Chronicles of Narnia soundtrack (and this is the music that was in the movie, not the music inspired by the movie), is a great collection of classical music. It gives you tingles to hear it. Some of the songs I skip over (The White Witch, Stone Table), but I listen to most of them through. Lucy Meets Mr. Tumnus is a perfect song to show the innocence of Lucy in the world of Narnia for the first time, and the meeting of her and Tumnus. My favourite songs are Battle, and Only the Beginning of an Adventure. Battle has the perfect blend of instruments, and a noble tone to it. The songs make you close your eyes and hum along. This is one amazing soundtrack, I highly recommend it if you like classical type of music, and loved the movie. The clips provided give a pretty good sense of each song, I recommend listening to them before you buy.

Inspiring, bone-tingling music that makes you want to watch the movie all the more. Unlike the other soundtrack "inspired by the movie", this is music that was actually in the movie, and personally, I like it better. I especially love "Battle", but all of the songs are amazing. Narnia's Lullaby sounds like something right out of Myst (a computer game for those who haven ever seen/played it). Gives me shivers :D
