The Little Big Book of Knowledge That's Actually Fun Oct. 20 2012
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a book that I might not have bought if I hadn't picked it up it in a brick-and mortar bookstore -- online, you don't really get the sense of the charming, whimsically illustrated retellings of historical events, a backpacker's tour of the universe, and much more. This sturdy, chunky book captured the attention of my 11 year old boy, who's more captivated by nonfiction than his brother.

Some books that attempt to be about ALL THE THINGS are actually disappointingly light -- lots of big pictures and few pages, and text that could fit on a single flap of a cereal box. This book really is jam-packed with all sorts of things you'd expect a kid to learn in school (but don't, as many parents learn to their chagrin), presented in a way that makes it fun to read and talk about.
