5.0 out of 5 stars Sassy strikes again Mar 8 2013

I am in love with Sarah so my rating is a little biased. The first and third album are the best. Especially the live performance with the LA Philarmonic Orchestra. In my opinion this is a must-have box set if you still are looking for the real thing. The first disc is young Sassy at her best. The second is great although you can tell the sound source must have been a vinyl copy. The cast in the fourth album is full of stars: George Duke. Paulinho Da Costa, Tom Scott, Ernie Watts, Milton Nascimiento among others. Even though in my opinion I Love Brazil is better, even this album shows the greatness of Sarah Vaughan.

An excellent compilation of the magnificent voice of one of the greatest singers of all time. No one in modern music has replaced her or Ella or any of the other geniuses of the height of the jazz era.

Of the four LPs, only the Brazilian and the LA Orchestra have a Sarah Vaughn voice. The other two are when she was so young you can't tell it is her.
