a human frailty series,

This series is an excellent example of people being human and frail. they certainly have their baggage but focus when they have to bring order to their lives. This series is not similar to the books, there have been many changes but it always is good to have choices in how we as the public see things in respect to the characters.

I had seen all these episodes before on PBS, but I still enjoyed every minute watching them again. They don't follow the books exactly, but are close enough not to offend lovers of the printed series. The only thing off-putting is having three different actresses play Helen at various points, but I guess that couldn't be helped.
