I really must say I enjoyed this DVD a lot. The music and presentation there of were really great, and I think that this DVD was fairly able to give a good representation of what the Complex Tour was like. However, I did have a few issues which kept it from being a 5 star product. First, is the fact that it was split up between two shows. This caused problems in the editing, having points where the footage was behind the music a bit. Not a huge problem, but still should be known for those of you like I who pay very close attention to thigns of the sort. The only other thing that bothered me was that Venus Hum wasn't really singing. I know that this is an issue with the show and not really the dvd, but I thought it should be mentioned. Overall, a good product, and well worth the $12. Recommend to fans of Blue Man Group- however- be warned, this is NOT a dvd of their normal live shows - just so you know.

If you have any appreciation for this type of music or these performers, you will be absolutely delighted with this DVD. My wife has watched this maybe 50 times (and a dozen for me).

Rock and Roll Can Be Fun,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Complex Rock Tour Live (DVD)
I first saw this concert as a Freeview on Directv and decided it was a must have. Works partly because it satirizes what rock concerts have become and then delivers a ferocious rock concert. There's the ongoing bit about performing Rock Concert Movement X, but then you see the band members in the back in fact gritting their teeth, bobbing their heads, etc. Fun stuff. The music is good, too, moving between moody sonic weirdness to near-metal with a dose of Donna Summers thrown in. Only minor complaint is Tracy Bonham's performance of Baba O'Reilly...her voice just doesn't have the punch of a Daltrey, ut fortunately she takes a more restrained approach, which results in a rather subdued piece. I would have loved to have seen Annette Strean step up to the plate on this one. Highly recommended...get the CD to play in the car, too.
