Product Description

From Amazon.com

Because of his tragic death on the set of The Crow, we'll never know if Brandon Lee would have turned one successful film into a popular series. But one look at this tepid sequel suggests that not even the charismatic Lee could have rescued The Crow movies from the burden of a lackluster screenplay. Based on the popular comic books by James O'Barr, this sequel finds Vincent Pérez as a man named Ashe, who is murdered along with his young son by a gang of drug-running thugs under the employ of slimy kingpin Judah Earl (Richard Brooks). Ashe is resurrected with the help of a tattoo artist named Sarah (Mia Kirschner), whereupon he begins a campaign of revenge against his killers. More a rehash than a sequel, the film repeats the grungy, dark look of urban decay from The Crow, but its combination of violence, heavy-handed symbolism, and tacky sentiment make this a film strictly for nihilistic teens. Then again, no movie in which veteran punkster Iggy Pop plays a sleazeball can be considered a total loss. --Jeff Shannon

3.0 out of 5 stars not as cool as the first, May 6 2012
This review is from: The Crow: City of Angels (Widescreen) (DVD)
the sequel doesnt live up to the cool atmosphere of the origonal and is actually most of the time quite boring but it does every once in a while manage to pull off some of the same cool imagery as the first. There are a few cool moments but in the end it just feels like a inferior remake of the first. not as enjoyable but not a total fail.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting concept but too scuzzy., Oct 2 2011

The idea of a supernatural return from the dead for revenge is interesting and could be the basis of some great plots. In this case, the bad guys are so scuzzy, so slimy and without merit that brutally murdering them in revenge is justified, but not interesting. In fact, wallowing in that level of society is a waste of time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Crow Awesome, City of Angels Horrible, Dec 21 2009
The Crow is an awesome movie. Although in this 2 movie on 1 disc DVD, they cut out the scene where the pawn shop owner's hand gets stabbed. It's the only cut I've been able to pick out so far. I think there may be a few more. The city of angels movie is so bad. The actor that plays the new crow is trying to mask an accent. He's swiss with german and spanish parents who studied in Paris. He should've left his accent alone instead of attempting an American accent. The special effects are pretty bad too. Sarah's pretty stunned instead of the tough girl she used to be
