Product Description

From the Back Cover

There is currently a strong drive towards innovative digital knowledge-based processes in the construction industry, which in turn are enabling designers and contractors to become more competitive without sacrificing creativity. Conventional design processes will be radically overhauled in the next few years as a consequence of this trend.

This book describes in detail the digital processes needed to construct complete buildings, and explains the digital applications needed for design and construction. The author presents a balanced approach that illustrates the possibilities of creative expression in digital environments on the one hand, whilst demonstrating the digital techniques needed to realise such ambitions on the other.

The innovative approaches to design and construction that are described in this book will impact on most sectors of the construction industry all over the world in the next few years. These approaches and techniques will transform the ways in which design offices work, and this will also affect the way students of architecture and engineering learn. The book provides a resource for students and professionals interested in digital solutions to specific design issues.
