This diet is amazing (so far). I have just finished my fourth week and am down 14.2 pounds. The book was very informative, & worth reading before starting this diet. The only criticism is some of the foods aren't translated into English the best, so it takes some research to know what they mean. I have lost virtually all cravings for carbs & have been able to fit this way of eating into my everyday diet with no hiccups. It has changed the way I look at food, my portions are more controlled (despite being able to eat unlimited!), and this is coming from someone with an addiction to food. I would recommend this to anyone looking to lose weight.

This guy seems to know what he is talking about. I've been on this diet for about three weeks and have lost 10 pounds already and my husband 25 and he cheats. I'm not saying that it is always easy but I am coming up with different ways to prepare meals and work with low fat yogurt to make sauces and such. I highly recommend it.

Purchased this book (Easy read)and completed my first week. Down 6lbs in 7 days. Easy to follow with easy to understand methods/explanations behind the diet. Recipes, sample menus, 100 foods to follow. Simple book to read and best kept on hand to refer to throughout the phases.

Like any diet, it has its pro's and con's. Sure, you won't like every recipe or food there, but there is enough leadway to make it into something you can enjoy with a little imagination. Really like that it is over 4 stages (approx 2 years) to establish the lifestyle change. Great support group on Facebook for motivation. Best of all is the cost - groceries! Eating healthier is more expensive, especially when following a predominantly protein diet, but you are not paying for supplements or unnecessary fees.

I bought this book a year ago and after reading the book first and going out and getting the necessary food items, then started it in earnest. I did a week of pure protein and then started on the 2nd phase which alternates pure protein days with protein and veggie days. To me the weight loss seemed like magic. every day I could step on the scale and it would show weight loss. This is the kind of motivation a dieter needs. I only had 27 lbs. to lose and by some time in April I had reached that.

Many people whine and complain that this diet can't be followed. To me it is an eater's dream! You can have tenderloin steak and an egg for breakfast if you want. Baked chicken, all the fish you want etc. etc. But it is not extreme like the Atkins diet and everything has to be very low or no fat. I ate a lot of no fat Greek yogurt and dairy products and there are many veggies to choose from. Once you get used to no carbs, they are not hard to resist. I cooked and baked normal meals for hubby with no desire to eat them. If you are dieting you have to expect to have some restrictions or it wouldn't be a diet! and it is only a week or less that you eat only lean protein, then you get carbs in the veggies.

It's a year now and I maintained my weight right thru to the fall. Since then I got a bit slack and with Christmas too I let a few pounds return. So I am just going to start into it again and drop them before I gain more. I know I can do it since I did it last time. Once you lose the weight you need to follow his maintenance plan or they will come back on over time.

So far so good. I am about 3 weeks in and have lost about 14lbs. This is the first diet I have ever been on where I was honestly not hungry. This makes sticking with it much easier indeed! I can honestly say I feel good, and I have not lost my motivation. Dr. Dukan describes each step in detail, this is really a black and white diet (I don't do well with gray). I am on step 2 of loss, so still have a ways to go. But for the price of the book it really is worth a try. It is alot cheaper than the weight loss "membership" costs of some of the "big guns" in weight loss. And it balances out to a healthy eating program for the rest of your days ~ we will see how that plays out;) Good Luck!

I was impressed with the pricing, including shipping, as well as the timeframe the book arrived. I ordered this book for my mother who got a good review from her co-worker.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE, is now I'm being solicited by many health food """companies""". I haven't received solicited phone calls for a few years now, but since then I ordered this book at the end of June, I've not received 5 calls from unknown numbers. I had to pick up one cause I thought it was my friend calling from Australia and I thought something had happened, instead it was Pure Green trying to pay me to lose weight. I'm not impressed by the solicitations therefore I will never buy anything from them again.

I'm a 125 lbs, 5'7 athlete - NO I DO NOT NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT AND GET PAID FOR IT. Bugger off.

My wife and I both went on the Dukan Diet. Two months later, I have lost 24 pounds and my wife has lost 22 pounds. We have not yet gone on the "Consolidation" phase where you have reached your goal weight and now consolidate the weight loss leading to a permanent solution.

The book is very clear on how to achieve your weight loss goals. It doesn't sugar coat the steps that are required, and is also very clear on how to avoid the pitfalls that could derail your progress. I recommend it to anyone who truly wants to shed unwanted pounds and is willing to follow the diet. I was never hungry at any point, and while food choices became a bit boring, I didn't suffer at all.
