I wasn't familiar with these authors, but I bought the book after reading the description and the amazing endorsements from the Dalai Lama and Stephen Covey. I was not disappointed! Good, but Emotional Intelligence 2.0 is better,
By Mark Anderson - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book: Everything You Need to Know to Put Your EQ to Work (Hardcover)
Though I enjoyed this book, I don't see why anyone would read it now that the authors have released Emotional Intelligence 2.0. Whereas this book introduces you to emotional intelligence (EQ), Emotional Intelligence 2.0 does the same and then goes much further by showing you how to increase your EQ through a step-by-step process and 66 strategies. In Emotional Intelligence 2.0 you also get access to an updated version of the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal test. The new test actually helps you improve your EQ by analyzing your score profile and pinpointing the strategies that will increase your EQ the most. You can also take the new test twice, to see how your EQ has improved with time. Oh ya, the new book is also $5 cheaper.

Good coaching tool,
By Pamela A. Ostrom "Life Transformation Coach" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book: Everything You Need to Know to Put Your EQ to Work (Hardcover)
I use this book and the online EQ appraisal as a coaching tool in my consulting work with managers and professionals. It's easy to read and gives us a common language for discussing key points about emotional intelligence. I especially like the self-assessment of personal and social competence as a non-threatening way to help people identify destructive reationship behaviors and create strategies to improve their abiltiy to relate to others. A simple, practical and useful approach to the topic of emotional intelligence.

A good find,
By Art Kowalski - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book: Everything You Need to Know to Put Your EQ to Work (Hardcover)
I first read about this book in a Newsweek article and it's intriguing. Quite frankly, I normally am bored by these kind of books but I couldn't put this one down. The authors tested more than 500,000 people and they turn the findings into practical strategies anyone can pick up and use. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to be the best they can be.
