In this book Tracie challenges the reader to live the life God wants us to. Here are a few thoughts from the book. Way too many to list them all!
Consequences come after the action which can be good or bad. We need to always make sure we look at the bigger picture. * When plans get changed, can you relax, go with the flow and take another course of action or do you get all bent out of shape? * Always accept responsibility for your action be it good or bad. * Is your Christianity showing? * You can either go it along in your own strength or choose to go in HIS strength. * Have you ever written a Thank You note to Jesus? Recognize all that Jesus has done for you and the gifts you have been given . * What kind of person are you? Real of silhouette?
Jesus brings life out of death. Think what happens after a forest fire. * God knows the plans He has for us. * Waiting is the hard part! Who can say Amen to that?! God has the controller. * Jesus loves you no matter what you have done or where you have been. * God can and will provide. * Only Jesus can satisfy.* HE is there for us if we let Him * Let Jesus fill you up * God provides shelter in the midst of the storms.
Are you among the walking dead? Hearing but understanding, seeing yet never persevering. * Keep your eyes on the mark. In your spiritual garden allow God to deadhead your anger or whatever else is in your life that is destructive. Allow it to die once it has served its initial purpose. Sometimes anger is the right reaction but allowing anger to control you is very different. * Perseverance, character, hope * Who moved? Big clue, it wasn't God! * Faith in the light. God doesn't want you living in the dark. As Isaiah 60:1 says, you have to arise. * Be prepared for Jesus' return
One very touching 'devotion' is where Tracie shares about her third pregnancy. Doctor's told her the baby would be born with severe retardation and strongly advised her and her husband to abort. Tracie was angry and mad at God to begin with. Abortion was not an option. Finally she prayed for peace. God didn't remove the problem but provided the grace to get through it. Erik was born perfectly healthy!
