A total rip off!!!!,
By
This review is from: The Family Jensen (Mass Market Paperback)
I really really do not recommend this book. Again another rip off by Johnstone!Lets see, we take the character from the First Mountain man series, add the character from Matt Jensen the Last Mountain Man series and add an orphan and make a new series. Lets keep in mind that of course they are all rich - hey they found gold on their land! Of course the First Mountain man is over 80 years old but he can move and shoot like a yang lad even though in the Matt Jensen series it says he's dying. The orphan is a wimpy kid who Matt brought to his farm to look after animals but guess what, he's a super-duper fast shooter - wow!! The series is just a collection of characters that Johnstone created to rip off us readers. In this one, all three are held up in a cabin, and the story goes back in time to talk about their paths. We all know it if you had read the other series. Johnstone has done this with other series also like the Loner. I will not be buying other books - more then likely I'll move to Compton and Cotton westerns. - Michel NOT RECOMMENDED!!! (I still have not finished this one - reading others just to get through this one!!)

Preacher, Smoke and Matt Jensen are trapped in a cabin in the middle of nowhere with bad guys all around how did they get here and will they survive? That is the setting for this William Johnstone novel. This is a book with three short stories that tell how each of them have arrived in this situation and how the story ends for them and their enemies. Johnstone reminds me of Louis L'Amour with his tales of the old west fast paced and easy to read. If you like the over the top hero you will enjoy this book. The Family Jensen #1

Good, but not great.,

This review is from: The Family Jensen (Mass Market Paperback)
I really liked this book and enjoyed reading it. I did get a little bit lost because it is actually 4 stories in one. The stories are related but jump around in time. I have read most of the Eagle series and loved that series. I have read a few of the Mountain Man series. If I had read more of that series I don't think I would have gotten lost. Even if you get lost, it still an enjoyable read.I give it a 4 star rating just because I didn't think it was as good as the Eagle books. I am look forward to future Family Jensen books and plan on purchasing them as soon as they come out. 6 of 9 people found the following review helpful
