Product Description

Product Description

The ultimate tool for aspiring fashion designers who love to sketch clothes but dont have the skills (or the patience!) to draw proportional figures, this sketchpad is filled with 420 figure templates in 20 different fashion-forward poses. Printed in a specially formulated Pantone color, the figures disappear from view when photocopied or scanned, eliminating the need to fuss with light boxes or tracing paper. An illustrated garment glossary showing the distinguishing details between acaftan, a sheath, a maxi, and so on - plus additional resources - help fashion rookies create the wardrobes of their dreams.

Perfect. I was smiling the whole time I was looking through this book. One setback however is it's only female models. But I still recommend this book for anyone who wants to getting into making clothes, even just clothes for yourself. It's a wonderful book to have on hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fashion Sketchpad review, Jun 11 2011

I got my Fashion Sketchpad earlier than estimated and I like that. It's quite big (slightly bigger than A4) and thick. The sketchpad covers are made of pressed cardboard. You can decorate the covers however you like, they are monochrome grey, as the pink and blue image with the title of the book has to be removed, when you open the book. The upper left corner of my front cover was a bit bent and torn, when I got it out of the packaging, I don't know why. All in all the pad is quite heavy to carry around.
The paper inside is white, thick and of good quality. The figure outlines are easily seen and well-printed. They are pale pinkish grey. All sheets are detachable, there's a special tearing line for doing it accurately. If you detach the sheets however, you can't put it in A4 transparent file holders, as they are slightly wider than that. The metal spiral is quite hard and doesn't bend easily.
It's a good portfolio prep, which you can personalize however you like.

I love this book. I'm new at designing and this book is perfect with allowing me to present my ideas in a professional manner. I no longer spend time drawing; I can focus on designing. I will definitely order more!!! Perhaps one for each collection ...
