From the Back Cover

THE FEED ZONE COOKBOOK is a no-fuss guide to preparing good food that will change the way endurance athletes eat.

With refreshingly simple ingredients that measure up to the demands of training and racing, Biju’s recipes are easy to follow and big on flavor. His tantalizing mix of salty, sweet, and savory satisfies an athlete’s cravings and prepares the body for top performance.

Eat like the pros. Feed Zone meals are the perfect balance of science and practice from Dr. Allen Lim and Chef Biju Thomas.

When Dr. Allen Lim left the lab to work with pro cyclists, he found a peloton weary of food. The sport’s elite athletes were underperforming on bland fare and processed bars and gels. So Lim set out to make eating delicious and practical. His journey took him inside the kitchens of the Tour de France and delivered him to a dinner party where he met celebrated chef Biju Thomas. Chef Biju and Dr. Lim vetted countless meals with the world’s best endurance athletes. Now they share their energy-packed, wholesome recipes to make your meals easy to prepare, delicious to eat, and better for your performance.

I love this book! Originally, I bought it mainly for ideas for portable snacks for longer bike rides. I hate store bought energy bars. I don't like chocolate or sweets, and ALL store bought bars are sweet. This book provides recipes for savory rice and bread cakes that are easy to make and easy to pack for a ride. Those recipes alone made the purchase worthwhile.

BUT, it got better. I've already tried a variety of the other recipes in this book, ranging from pre-workout meals to dinners. I am a trained chef so I have a decent range of healthy meal options that I make already, but seeing some of the recipes here definitely triggered additional ideals. Best of all, these recipes are easy to make, often take less than 30 minutes to cook and are very tasty!

Perfect book!

I purchased this cookbook for my son who is an ironman tri-athlete. He cooks his own healthy and balanced meals to fit into his training schedule while doing his army training and sports training. He loves the recipes and makes really great meals for himself and his team mates instead of eating junk food.

Beautiful pictures, tasty meals, informative, and easy to pull together. As a bachelor, I found the lists for kitchen appliances and groceries very helpful. I like thumbing thru the book and making whatever my thumb lands on... fun and easy.

We really enjoy this cookbook. Although I'm not a fan of their rice cakes and found them difficult to open and eat while cycling, there are many other recipes we've made several times. Most of the recipes are carb focused to help you fuel your long training days. We particularly enjoy the fried rice recipe (I had never thought of mixing soy sauce with eggs, and then scrambling them. It looks gross, but it's delicious), and one of the quinoa recipes. There's still much from this book that we haven't yet tried.

I disagree with the previous review, most of the ingredients are common household staples. This cookbook is designed to make life easier by proving easy-to-make, healthy fuel for the busy athlete.

I've got maybe 20 cookbooks...and this is one of 2 that I use all the time.

Great book - simple/fast/tasty/healthy cooking at its best.
