This book gives you all the information you will need in order to understand and follow the Gerson Therapy. Background is given as to how and why Dr. Max Gerson developed the therapy as well as how it helped many with degenerative diseases when he used it in his practice in Germany. After coming to the United States, he even gave testimony before the Senate on its efficacy, especially for cancer patients. His daughter has continued to keep the Therapy available to people who wish to use it today.
The diet is covered in detail, explaining why certain foods are forbidden, and others are encouraged. The juicing, which is the cornerstone of the therapy, is thoroughly explained. Use of coffee enemas is covered, and the supplement regime is given. However, not every person would need to take every supplement (depending on their disease), and amounts of each supplement could vary from person to person. As well, some of the supplementation is not available from your local health food store. Therefore, it may be necessary to contact the Gerson Therapy Institute in order to follow the Therapy in its entirety.
The Gerson Therapy is difficult to follow, and the juicing tends to take up most of your waking hours. BUT we have already had success with using the therapy, even in the 5 weeks we have been following it. I highly recommend this book if you are serious about reversing a degenerative disease that you have been diagnosed with.

A Highly Recommended First Book On The Use And Application Of Alternative Medicine/Natural Healing for Chronic Conditions.
This is the book that I would first recommend for anyone wanting to understand the use of alternative medicine for the healing of any chronic condition including cancer I would also highly recommend this book to anyone contemplating the use of conventional medicine as well because of the excellent material on the disease process and the potential for using this or some other alternative therapy in a complimentary or combination process of natural and conventional healing. The issue in addressing healing of chronic diseases is for the person with the disease and their family to be sufficiently unformed of the causes and all possible treatment possibilities so that they can make informed and responsible decisions about their total treatment. Other therapies and approaches could be evaluated as to how well they addressed all of the healing concepts detailed in this book.
"The Gerson Therapy" is a welcome and highly recommended addition to the multitude of books that address healing of chronic conditions including cancer by using natural or alternative means. The specific approach is healing by a combination of high quality nutrition and total body detoxification. The Therapy is a total program and does require significant life style changes at least for the detailed therapy. Actually, lifetime lifestyle changes will be required to remain healthy, but these are easily done once one has gone through the detailed therapy.
This book accomplishes several needed functions.

This book is an excellent account of the impressive Gerson Therapy developed by the pioneer of cancer research, Max Gerson. The book provides a clear outline of his tremendously successful therapy. I highly recommend it to anyone who suffers from cancer, wants to avoid cancer, or wants to understand some of the disturbing politics preventing the truth about cancer from reaching the public. Eye-opening!

The book is exactly what I expected. Some of the contents like the coffee enema appear a little extreme for me, but the book is very transparent. It outlines that there is a cost for anyone to attend a clinic and do the training (this makes this method a little out of reach for someone who is dealing with illness and as a low income) also gives positive feedback about the healing method. I agree that diet is something that everyone should consider when trying to heal, mind, body and soul. I will take part of this book and apply it to my own health regime, but I don't think I will be apply some of the complimentary healing methods outlined in the book. Reading those, I can see why Dr. Gerson got outed from medical circles. He did advocate for the use of some medications, but obviously was not a pharmaceutical puppet, which would not be pleasing to the government.!!

Gerson Therapy
I have a friend who was diagnosed with terminal cancer (of the esophagus that had metasticized in his liver) just over a year ago. He was supposed to be dead by now. His aunt researched alternative treatments for cancer and discovered the Gerson Therapy. My friend has been on the therapy for just under a year and is back at work feeling great. His cancer has not progressed and the main tumors in his liver have shrunk. As a result, I became interested in learning more about the Gerson therapy. I bought and read both the Gerson Therapy by Charlotte Gerson and A Cancer Therapy: Results of Fifty Cases and the Cure of Advanced Cancer. Both books are outstanding to reads. I appreciate the detailed explanation and understanding the science behind the treatment. It makes perfect sense to me to give your body what it needs to heal itself naturally. I highly recommend this to anyone who is dealing with cancer or other degnerative disease.
