Product Description

This book is written from the perspective that correct hand action is crucial to developing a well coordinated fault-free golf swing. The author's opinion is that proper hand action is missing from most golf swings. The solution offered begins with chapter three with a description of correct hand action. Detailed step-by-step instructions follow on how to implement correct hand action into the golf swing. In fact, all chapters are written using detailed step-by-step instructions accompanied by colour photographs illustrating the steps. Chapter four addresses how you should use your shoulders during the golf swing. Instruction is provided on how to modify Paul Runyan's chipping method to hit full shots. Using this technique your shoulder turn can easily be monitored and coordinated with your hand action. How to grip a golf club and address a golf ball are discussed fully in chapters one and two.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Golf Swing: It's all in the hands Feb 8 2012
Format:Paperback
I read this book during my holidays and figured it would be a quick read as it was only four chapters.
How wrong I was!

This book is so full of information. The first chapter took 10 days to go through as I found my self grabbing an old golf shaft with a grip and working through what Jim was describing and duplicating the grip in the pictures as well. The second chapter as almost as long as I worked through each step as I went through the pages. The other chapters were quicker to read.

I highly recommend this book to any one who is working on their game, new golfers or old, as it is packed with useful information that is worth reviewing whenever you need to correct a swing error.
I will be headed for the range with the book this spring!

3.0 out of 5 stars almost.... Feb 11 2013

Great up to the impact position.

However I think the author should have spent more time on the hands and wrists in the entire release up through the finish.

How the hands swivel or don't swivel, rehinge, hand path, wrist and hand motion in the follow through and many other points should be examined in detail as these things and other factors may influence both positively and negatively the amount of control and speed generated in the swing.
